As an update to my review from January 2017, (see additional pictures) this pouch is fantastic. after nearly a year of daily, heavy use in a busy steel shop, this pouch has held up wonderfully. the stitching is still as sturdy as ever and nothing has ripped, bent, deformed, or broken. This is by far one of the best purchases I have made. This pouch truly lives up to its name and the quality of its workmanship and construction have yet to disappoint me. In the shop we constantly brush against abrasive edges, are covered in showers of sparks, crawl and lay on rusty and dirty steel and this pouch takes it all like a champ. My every day kit includes a small wire brush, a heavy Estwing chipping hammer, welders pliers, and a wide chisel. All this weight has not taken a toll on this product. the only damage its suffered is cosmetic- which is only to be expected in such an environment. Again, I HIGHLY recommend this holder for anyone in the construction or steel industry. I work as a welder and have gotten tired of having to either use a bucket to keep my essentials close by or having to try and carry all of the tools with me on the pieces I weld. Often times I set tools down on bigger pieces such as beams or girders and lose track of them-wasting valuable time tracking down my tools. This holster is made in USA and is of excellent quality. I'm very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it. The leather construction is druable and resistant to sparks and other hazards present in the welding environment that other Holsters, especially synthetic or nylon ones will not stand up to. All my essentials- chipping hammer, MIG pliers, soapstone, wire brush, scraper, cleaning brush, small slag pick, and striker can be carried on this making it easy to keep everything right at my side when I need it.

I purchased the 5520 and 5523 for a lightweight and compact tool belt for general handyman work. This combo holds quite a few tools and allows me to keep a wide array of problem solvers close at hand without being too bulky. A bonus that I did not foresee is that my drivers fit in the hammer loop. So I have ordered a hammer loop to place in the center of my back to use when I am using a drill driver. The quality of these pouches is top notch. Fully loaded with a hammer and drill it’s a bit heavy for the belt I have, so I will upgrade to a 2 or 3 inch belt. But as it is I can wear it for hours and it doesn’t bother me. Very thick, well fastened leather. Made in America! This is an excellent combo for the handyman or homeowner who wants to keep some basic tools at hand when working on projects.

Amazingggg product especially for the price brand and quality. Great on its own or with a pouch on the other side. Helped me eliminate a bag on my right side when it’s not needed and help my shoulders so much. Also best carry for doing drop ceiling’s. Great product

It’s just what you’d expect. Very high quality, got here fast and on time. You take care of these bags they’ll last you your entire career. If any of the stitching or rivets come out you send it back to occidental and they’ll fix it free. Doesn’t matter if it’s 25 years from now with no receipt. My boss has a pair from the 80’s they put new pockets on it for him and restitched the entire belt and fixed all the rivets. So when you buy this stuff it’s expensive yes but you’re getting it for life. With my belt, hip pads and this pouch im at about $450-$500 into this bag but if I didn’t have it I’d be spending $100 Every year or two on the cheap ones. It will pay for itself In the long run and it’s just so comfortable. I think the suspenders may be next.

If you are using this just for a quick right hand bag it would be better than trying to use it as your rear hammer hook. Just kinda is a lot of stuff in one place and takes a while for the leather to loosen up so you end up fighting to get your tools in and out. The plastic chisel holder can be removed and placed somewhere else in your bags if you'd like. Because it doesn't really fit many other things besides a chisel, screwdriver, knife. But when removed, it leaves a large 1" by 2" by 6" leather pocket which is much more usuable. It's also a little too long so your hammer doesn't sit in it plumb. The weight of the hammer kinda pulls it in towards yours body so the handle is bouncing off your leg. All that being said it is GREAT Craftsmen ship and if you have tools that will fit in it easily it is great. And a great value.

I have been looking for a small tool holder for those jobs that don't require a large array of tools. I have shopped at the big box stores and never saw anything that appeared to be of sound quality and durability. While the Occidental 5520 5 in 1 Tool Holder is more costly than those I have seen elsewhere, it is hands down the best both for its quality of manufacture and for the thoughtfulness that I believe is exhibited by its design. I have already used this tool holder during the course of a couple small jobs around the house and it has provided me with the ability to safely and securely carry the handful of small tools I needed to complete the projects at hand and negated the need for me to put on my much larger and heavier multi tool pouches. For small jobs requiring a minimal amount of small hand tools, I believe that this product cannot be beat.
