Deva: Deva Clips, 8 ct by DevaCurl

I wondered why the reviews on Deva curl site said they do not tangle hair and that most reviews here said they did. Well I'm returning these and I ordered from Deva curl and I found out why. Its a subtle difference but its what tangles as you pull them out. If you look closely the pin is shorter on Deva curl clips. Also the clamp is stronger on Deva curl clips.

I'm giving these clips 5 stars for a couple reasons:1. They solved the problem I bought them for! I've started embracing the natural waves in my hair and I found that when I squished to condish, it left beautiful waves in my hair but my roots looked awful and clumpy and ruined the entire look! I've found that sliding these clips into my roots along the scalp before I let my hair dry and keep them in until I'm finished diffusing worked wonderful! My roots stayed exactly where I want them!2. The quality of the clip is pretty fantastic, they provide a very tight clasp that doesn't fall out and I've found myself using them for all kinds of purposes now!3. A little added bonus I was not expecting was that after I remove the clips from my roots like I talked about in the first point, my hair has amazing volume at the roots!!!! I had no idea that could happen, but all I do is clip the hair right at my scalp so it's forced to dry away from my head and walah!!!!Needless to say, I'm very very happy with this purchase :)

These clips are larger than those you would buy at the beauty store which is helpful for root clipping with thick curly hair. However, they seem incredibly overpriced for what you get, which I guess is the deal with having the brand name attached. I like them, but not sure I would purchase again due to price. I'd be willing to try to make the smaller ones work since a package of 30 can cost $2 or less at the store. However, now that I have them I use them regularly when styling my hair naturally.

These are good and bad. They are tricky to place near the scalp without flipping flat. Once you figure out how to get them in position they are ok. They can get tangled in the hair quite easily. I don't find myself using them much unfortunately. Probably too high a price in the grand scheme of things.

Love these large clips for root-clipping. They are pricey, and I probably need another set. However, they hold a lot of hair in each one and they are strong. So, even though I have smaller ones from other brands, I will get another set of these large ones.

I tried Deva-style clipping with regular curl clips and wasn't impressed. These clips are SO much better! They are very strong, and larger than a typical curl clip. They work great for giving extra volume to my hair.

They work well. Google the YouTube video that shows the different ways to use them. That's how I got the best use of them.

I like them & they work, but they get easily tangled in my curls & hair is always getting snagged in them & painfully ripped out pulled...
