This Device Does Not Work
In theory, this device should work but it is gimicky. It needs to be re-thought, if at all. The only reason I purchased this product was to obtain some relief when my husband is out of town. Mistake. From While I am not one to [ever] write a negative review, I have made an exception mostly because not only is this product useless but the seller has a 'no return' policy which upset me. Had I been able to return this product, I would not be writing this review. Further, I want folks looking for spinal pain relief to be informed about how this device does not work before they make the same mistake I did - purchasing an item that does not honor returns. However, I am happy that some customers [somehow] found relief using this device. My first mistake was not thinking through how this device would be stored in between usages. The water bag is cumbersome at best, especially when filled to near capacity, as I need to do to get anywhere near the amount of traction that my neck requires. It needs to be filled from a kitchen sink since the spout is so small. This means that you then need to carry this bulky bag of water to some convenient door frame in your home. So, we are supposed to drain the bag every time we use it? Not only is that a waste of water but discouraging to think that we have to go through such a process prior to every use. Sure, we can keep the bag full of water, but then where do we put it? I set mine in the bathtub but then had to move it when necessary to use the tub. And what about mold developing which can occur within 24 hours? Ugh. My second mistake was not observing where the neck brace places the pressure in order to activate the traction. I should have recognized the red flag by other reviews that commented on 'the need for steel teeth and a mouth guard' in order for it to feel comfortable. Problem here is that the traction is placed around the jaw area, not the base of the neck area. So the traction is minimal at best. My third mistake was not recognizing the risk of the hanging metal hangar swiveling and either hitting me in the head or eye which I was able to avoid while assembling the device; and unless you remove the device from the back of the door -- every time you want to use it -- it will bang against the wall thereby damaging the wall every time you open the door. All being said, I finally used the device. Disappointed at best. It is worth noting that I have cervical spondylosis with cervical myelopathy (aka arthritis with fused discs) in my neck. However, I rarely take medication and have always preferred homeopathic methods to minimize the pain. Conclusion: the absolute best method for traction is the good, old fashion way - a long pillow case and your spouse, partner or friend standing behind as you lay on the bed, binding the sheet around the base of your neck and....gently pulling. Results are amazing. From now on, I'll wait until he returns to use the method that is tried and true.

Helped me so much with cervical spine slipped disk pain.
Love this pully system. It helped stretch my neck and released the pain in my C5-C6 herniated disk pain. Now I don’t need it anymore. So happy!

Can't use without help.
I have problems with my shoulders and have not found a way to use this. The literature that came with this device recommends having a helper. Unfortunately that is not practical for me, so I will be returning this product. I found the device easy to assemble and apparently of decent quality - I was not planning to use the water reservoir so I can't comment on that. (I planned to use 1/2 lb weights in a strong cloth shopping bag instead of the provided blatter.)

Good for the price! Beware of neck bruises.
You get what you pay for, and knowing that, I’d say it’s fine. I have to put extra padding (washcloths) in the halter or else it leaves bruises on my neck that make it look like I use ropes & whips in the bedroom 😅 I’m glad it’s winter and I can wear a scarf! Also, a quick tip for mouth breathers: get a snoring mouth guard or a teeth whitening set that comes with a tray insert thing. I got a whitening kit with that little blue light gimmick awhile back that included a soft, clear mouthguard/tray with breathing holes. The water bag that came with this product made me nervous, and while it didn’t leak, it smelled heavily of chlorine. When I take baths it doesn’t smell like a swimming pool so idk what caused that. Cat litter is a great alternative. I cut a small hole and slid the metal bar out from the side of the included bag, and then cut some slits in the sides of an 18lb Dr. Elsey’s bag to get it in there. I may need to strengthen it with some duct tape, but so far the sack of cat litter has held up. When it’s not in use I just hook the neck bar thing to the bag like in the picture. I tied a knot that makes a hole, and put a spare S hook I had for hanging kitchen utensils in it. There isn’t one included in the package. In all, I’d say I’m happy with my purchase. $15 is a good deal for what you get imo.

Pain relief but it sucks
I never leave reviews but today I decided this one needs one.... because it sucks. Does it relieve pain? Yes. It works to an extent. If you are desperate, buy this. Bring help though because it is not easy to assemble alone each time. The strap that goes around the back of your head has two small straps that velcro to the chin strap. The weight alone tries to rip the velcro off. I decided to take a picture of how that ends up going. I have had this for a couple of months and have used it many times to help, but it is a struggle and very irritating. I am 5'10" so I have to sit in a chair in front of the door for it to work because a standard door is not tall enough for me to stand. Not their fault but it just adds to my dislike for this type of product. End of the day, I've used it and it has helped but I feel like the velcro is at the end of its life at 2 months in so I either need a new head strap or a new product. EDIT: A year or so later, I have found an excellent device. Saunders makes a great neck traction device that allows you to use a pump to adjust the pressure. It is pricey at $350, but it has helped me postpone a c6/c7 disc replacement for over a year. Don't waste your money on this device if you aren't broke and desperate.

Deliver of only part of the product
I received only half the product in a damaged carton inside a closed large envelope. The spreader, rope and the straps were missing. Unfortunately I cannot use it. The photo showed what I received
