Shaving razor turned into a kitchen knife
It is a Spyderco knife, which is enough for me to know that it will be unusually sharp. Though when I first saw this knife, I wasn't sure what to expect, but once I started to cut with this knife, I knew this was a genuine Spyderco knife. With this knife I have cut through hunks of beef briskets, vegetables include carrots, cabbages, and potatoes; peel the skin of a pineapple, taken out the core, and cut it into chunks, all done with this knife alone. This knife is excellent for making the spiral cuts to taken out the eyes of pineapple. Slice and dice garlic and onion, this little knife does it all, truly a little knife that can. It has the ergonomic and good balance, but the plastic and tiny stature make it cheap looking. Cutting with this knife is also a learning process. The blade is thin, so there is not much weight behind it, therefore not much of the chopping than the slicing cut motion. Also, the shape, length, and overall size of the knife meant I had to learn how to hold it correctly in order to get the maximum efficiencies from it. I think the tiny hole on the blade is the balance point of the knife, and by placing the index finger or pinching it with the thumb and the index fingers, I can apply the maximum pressure to the knife without losing control and cut myself accidentally. It's a pleasure to cut with this knife, and I am extremely happy to have discovered this little Spyderco beauty.

Wish All My Kitchen Knives Were Spyderco!!!
First off this is a Spyderco household! I love Spyderco knives, most of my EDC knives are Spyderco and I was wondering why we don't use Spyderco knives in the kitchen. So now we do! The blue one picture above is the first one I got and my wife loves it, it's her favorite pairing knife and it's great because it can sit up on its own, as in you can place it up and the blade won't rest on the counter which is probably why it's called the counter puppy, which I also highly recommend. The ZCut though is SUPER SUPER SHARP, really and is great for cutting really anything! Meat, fruits, veggies, plastic whatever! Plus it's really comfortable in the hand and light weight! Really if you know anything about knives you know Spyderco makes great blades...and made in the USA! Plus it's in a cool lime green handle, which matches my green Spyderco salt Native 5 knife. So grab this blade and you won't regret it and at around $30 you can't beat it for getting a USA made sharp quality kitchen knife and Spyderco stands behind their products with an awesome warranty! Not sold yet...well I don't know what else you could want, just get this knife and replace the rest of your boring kitchen knives with Spyderco!

Know how to use it and it will be an A+ Knife
I have bought 2 of these now. One for me and one for my buddy that is an amazing cook. It's become both of our favorites knives. I think people have the wrong idea of it in some of these reviews. It is thin. It shouldn't be used when you need something with more rigidity in the blade. It shouldn't go on the dishwasher. It's not that hard to just treat it like you should all of your higher quality knives, and just wash it by hand after use. When it comes to what you need it for, it is incredible. Super sharp, great ergonomics, and so thin for making those precise cuts. I have had veggies that I have cut with this knife mistaken for mandoline cuts. That's where it kills it. And such a great price for a knife that will likely become one of your go-to's.

Glad I gave this a try.
A unique design and very functional. Holds an edge well. This has become a knife I frequently reach for.

Cut anything, A - Z-cut!
These are great, get you one. Everyone who has used mine loves it. It's a great all around kind of knife. It's the type of knife that if this was your only kitchen knife, you'd be more than fine. Good steel, affordable, and Spyderco level heat treat. Super thin, moderate flex, very versatile. I think these are better than the Victorinox paring blades in terms of steel and versatility in the kitchen, and that's saying A LOT.

Sharp & Unique, but Bendy & Cheap-Looking
Good: Extremely sharp, as you'd expect from Spyderco. And it's shape has a unique presentation that can start conversations. The unique shape is not that hard to use. Bad: Blade is so thin that it bends like a Chinese WuShu saber. The handle is totally functional and ergonomic but it looks and feels a bit cheap, not high-class. Overall: I like it and recommend it, but it won't be for everyone.

Mean slicer but be careful opening the clamshell
This is a very nice knife for slicing through fruits, veggies and meats. The slicing action is aided by the blade's thin stock; by the same token, this blade is probably not meant for heavy cutting. The blade's factory edge is ground very sharp. The edge bevel could have been ground more evenly but it is hard to complain too much given the price and the semi-premium steel used (CTS-BD1N - a nitrogen steel which I came to like from using two other high-performing Spyderco knives featuring the same steel). A little caveat about getting this knife out of its clamshell package: I used a sharp blade to open the clamshell and found that, for the most part, a fair amount of pressure needed to be applied to the blade to cut through the plastic packaging, especially when rounding the corner, so to speak, as I cut toward the portion housing part of the Z-Cut's handle. However, after cutting into that "corner", the plastic seems to thin or give out abruptly and, if one does not let up quickly on the pressure applied to the cutting blade, the latter may end up traveling some distance beyond the clamshell. Therefore either be vigilant when opening the clamshell using a knife and/or give the whole thing a wide berth to avoid accidentally cutting yourself or someone else nearby.

Definitely makes the cut
Really good knife! Well made, solid and sharp. Handle design puts cutting edge below your knuckles so whole edge is flat on cutting surface. Definitely recommend! Spyderco makes good knives!
