All components are good quality and it's almost pristine.
Excellent for the price. The EliteDesk 800 G5 was clean, no fingerprints, dust, or dents. There was an actual Intel WiFi and Bluetooth card installed with the antenna connected properly. The SSD was Samsung, although a bit well used. Even the fans were clean and the keyboard and mouse were decent quality. The only very minor complaint is there was no original HP RAM. It had one Kingston module and one from Ramaxel, so not matched modules. Everything is present and works though, which is well above average for a refurb at this price. I've purchased at least ten refurb mini computers over the past five years. This is the first one I've received that didn't have any case damage or missing components. At six cores and with good power management, it's a perfect media center PC, and can be used as a primary desktop if you don't plan to do any gaming or 3D modeling work. I've even got one setup for my wife with additional RAM and a larger SSD for music production and photo editing.

We have different definitions for "Renewed"
Overall I'm happy with this. My definition of "renewed" for a computer means it's been opened up, inspected, dust and dirt removed, cleaned, tested. I had reason to open this and I doubt it was opened. It still had a lot of dust in the fan. It works though. It's very quiet until you really make it work. Bigger issue, after the installed Windows 10 was activated, it posted MANY warnings about viruses on the machine. Glad I hadn't installed the included wifi adapter with which Windows could have connected to my home network and possibly wreaked havoc. I ended up booting this with a Linux flash drive. Machine runs well. It's fast enough to play 4K 60fps video with just a very minor amount of stutter. I haven't bothered running an anti-virus on the installed M.2 drive yet. I don't use Windows much so I don't really need it. I'll get to it eventually though. The 3mm headphone port on the front is flaky. I have to pull out and push in the plug every time I boot it. Fan did start winding up when playing the 4K 60fps videos. Fan doesn't get annoying when it's on. I really like the compact size. For the money it's just about an unbeatable deal. I will put a one terabyte drive in this once I've run it a while and have tested it thoroughly. (ETA: 5/2/2024) Reinstalled the M.2 drive that came with this. Neither Microsoft Defender nor Avast anti-virus could remove whatever was on it. It was almost like any ability of these two programs to do anything was stopped. I pulled the drive and snapped in. No one needs that kind of issues. Scary stuff.

This one is wonderful
This is the third HP mini I have seen renewed by Amazon. The first is a G3 and is very good. The second, a G4, was awful and sent back, the OS was corrupted and physically very sloppily renewed. This G5 is great, everything fell into place nicely and is now running Windows 11. It did not come with a HDD caddy. A nice touch is that the 16 gigs of ram is in one module. I believe that buying renewed computers is a bit of a crap shoot, some will be bad, and will need to be sent back, but most will be good, in need of a little work, but well worth the effort. Do your home work, check which CPUs will do Windows 11. Read the listing carefully, plain "SSD" is likely a off brand SATA device, etc. good luck

Good machine for the price
Nice unit, looks new, seems to work fine. Just 1 star because it did not include Bluetooth capabilities even though it was listed as included in the listing. Fortunately an inexpensive BT adapter solved that issue.

Nice box but missing the described WIFI - Config seems to be hit and miss
Took off two stars as the machines didn't come with WIFI or Bluetooth as advertised. One part of the description says WIFI is built in and an an other part says it's supplied as USB device. I ordered two machines, and neither came with any form of WIFI. If they had come with WIFI as advertised, I would give them 5 stars as they are nice little machines and they arrived in clean and good condition. I will keep as I don't actually need WIFI, but they should be accurately described. I plan to use these as small linux servers. I got my 16GB as a single SODIMM, so memory expansion should be easy (there is a second memory slot). There is also a spare M.2 slot so a second NVMe could be added. There is also a standard 2.5 inch sata slot/carrier if more storage is needed. Another reviewer reported receiving units with different BIOS levels - mine arrived this way, but after booting into the provided Windows 11 image and running Windows Update, the firmware got updated to current - so the machines are at least still somewhat supported. These machines have a flex port on the back that could potentially have a variety of options, mine came with VGA (in addition to the two Display Ports) If the seller wants to ship me the missing WIFI cards, I would put back a star or two... Update: Ordered two more but the second two came with 2x 8GB SODIMMs instead of a single 16GB. These two did come with the advertised USB WIFI and Bluetooth dongles. The native antennas has been removed leaving extra holes in the case. While these items were a bit annoying, it would be fair to consider that they met the product description. These two had the DisplayPort option instead of VGA. However these two were also missing the internal hard drive carrier which I feel is an expected part and not easily obtainable as is replacement SODIMMs or a wifi card, and one case was pretty dented, so I returned the second two and will may try another order to see if I get ones with the HD carrier. Update 2: Received the replacements and they came with the native internal WIFI card and antennas, no HD carrier, 2x8GB SODIMMs, and DisplayPort as the third video output option. These also came with an DP to HDMI adapter, mouse, and keyboard. These were also an i5-9600 processor (slightly faster than the i5-9500). So looks like you will get a nicely functional box, but the WIFI configuration, memory configuration, inclusion of the internal HD carrier, and other provided options / accessories may vary.

These are a buy
I will be buying more. They are excellent for the purpose I am buying them for. They are as advertised and work flawlessly so far.

No HDMI port, Video port is parallel pins.
There is no HDMI port on the computer. I have nothing to hook it up to my new monitor. I am completely frustrated and upset because I have been TRICKED into buying something that is useless in the 21st-century. Who is still using parallel pin cables for their video? And neither the monitor nor the computer came with such cable anyway. I thought I was getting HDMI for the video hook up but it was a DisplayPort. They look very similar but are not the same. It turns out there is an adapter you can get, but in any case, the DisplayPort in the picture is INCORRECT. You’re going to get a parallel-pin-type of port for your video. And as an extra bonus, they surprise you with a $95 restocking fee. It does not say THAT on the page either. “Free returns” only means they pay the shipping, in case you didn’t know. If you have to return it, call Amazon; don’t use the app.
