Works great as a smoker with some modifications
Very happy so far, with some exceptions and extra work. I bought this soley to replace a Walmart smoker that I had for almost 20 years (see photo). I am not reviewing this as a grill as I will never use it as such. Smoker only. For that, it works great. I did read the reviews before I purchased and figured I would correct some of the issues others has about it leaking smoke/heat. Assembling it did require some help at a couple points, but was straight forward. Bottom rack is okay and wheels work, but I also parked it on my patio and will never move it again. It didn't come with a grease cup, but an old soup can worked out fine. In fact, better as I can just toss it when full and put another can on, instead of having to clean it out. Grill racks are decent and clean fairly easy. I sealed all the seams with a high temp sealer (see photo) and sealed the lid/base joint with fiber tape (again, see photo). The remaining photos show most of the seams I sealed. This did a great job of keeping the heat and smoke in. I highly suggest doing this. I used canola cooking spray and coated all the surfaces before I built the seasoning fire. I have not had any issues with the black paint failing as a result. Skip this step and be forewarned. As you can see from the size of my old $40 Walmart smoker, its a jump up in size with is great. I've been able to smoke multiple racks of ribs and brisket slabs at the same time. The metal gauge is thicker than my old one, and since I'm almost 60, this should be the last smoker I ever own. The cover was a nice add-on, but no cover lasts long in constant UV and elemental exposure, and I don't expect this one too either. After this falls apart, I'll leave it to the elements like I did my last one. I don't care how it looks, how it performs is what matters. Besides, covered smokers tend to invite creepy crawlies. Would I buy it again? Yes. Is it a great value? Yes. Would I use it as a charcoal grill? No. Would I recommend it as a smoker only? Yes, but I would take the time and buy the extras to seal it up well, and don't forget to season the surfaces.

Thin metal but still holds high heat
I do like it, I do enjoy it, it is cheap lol It's certainly thinner than anticipated so more fuel is needed (wood/charcoal) over a duration of extended time. Not really an issue in my personal opinion. Grilling multiple plus years natural fuels. Does help it cool down quicker too though, so maybe a safety aspect there? Maybe? Works well, as expected. Easy to assemble. Easy to control temp/smoke Fun as hell Do recommend Lots of grill space, easy to move grill grates, easy to start, maintain embers. All around seems legit. All grilling, bbq, temp gauging aspects seem to work after multiple intense grill sessions. Upper grill works great for warmer, stones, pans, etc So yea, if you're looking at it... You want it.. Just get it lol If ya chill; this should be worth it for sure. (Be sure to burn a few hot sessions before food as factory surfaces have things that really should be cleaned or burned off prior to cooking food. And to prevent any potential fowl flavors. Your welcome) Cheers Fam

WARNING!!! Do Not Buy
Nice looking pit for the price. Now my coals stay lit and I'm able to cook my meat better. The metal is a bit thin, but maybe the cover that came with it will protect it in bad weather. Only time will tell if it will hold up but for now It was a good deal. Update: The wheels started coming off. The top rack will not hold lots of meat so it bends and comes off. The cover faded white because of the sun. The bottom plate that holds the charcoal is starting to deteriorate after a few uses. The overall metal is so thin and flimsy that strong wind will eventually move it. This pit will not last a long time and I haven't even had it a whole 2 months! Amazon only gives you a 30 day return window and will not help you with any warranty refund or replacement after that. They will say contact the manufacturer but for what?? Another pit! Lol....Save your money and buy a better pit from lowes or home depot for around the same price. Dont be like me and stay stuck with a cheap pit. Its really embarrassing having a bbq get together with a new pit that's falling apart during cook outs. Oh, and I've been bbq'n for years and this is not worth it!!! What a waste!!! 2nd Update: I managed to rig the pit to stay in use. However the cover is long gone and is hard to replace and find the right size. The cover that comes with it tore.and ripped into pieces because it became brittle and it catches on the pits sharp edges..... I dont not recommend. Spend the extra $40 on something made with better quality.

Recommend.
I mainly use this grill with wood fire and it holds well. Looks exactly as it shows on the photos. Paint on the bottom of the grill comes off after couple uses but other than that there is no rust forming. It also comes with cover so if you use cover then rust do not form. After assemble, it fits well so smoke only comes out of the smoke pipe. It holds heat well so cook time is fairly short. Overall good grill with affordable price.

Great for a budget grill!
Assembly was easy and straight forward. It even comes with a really nice heavy duty cover! With the diversity of use for an offset smoker it’s a must have! You can use it as a direct heat grill or an indirect smoker! Most people know this but some may be new to the world of bbq. Buy a smoke regulator for set it and forget it smoking. Mine was on Amazon for $179. Worth every penny! I’ve already reviewed it! Pros: you can use any wood you want. Diversity of uses. Easy to clean. Charcoal and hardwoods are cheaper than wood pellets. Delivers good smokier flavor than pellets. Propane is quick but does not provide much flavor. Cold smoking. Starts fast with a chimney starter. Don’t use lighter fluid, it always will make the wood have a kerosene flavor. Con’s: propane starts faster but that’s not really grilling!

Hard To Put Together and Rust Very Easily
I am giving this item three stars still because this grill was very inexpensive, and I do believe to a certain extent that you get what you pay for. However, having had this now for maybe 3 or 4 weeks, I have a few observations. 1) This grill was difficult to put together, and I consider myself way above average when it comes assembling things. I watched a couple of videos of people unboxing and assembling before I ordered this item, but they did like a high-speed installation video, they did not get into the details of the installation or the issues that one is likely to encounter with the provided instructions. There were several times that I was lost on what to do next but figured it out through trial and error. 2) The grill has gotten rained on a few times which is going to happen here is Florida, and it has spots of rust in multiple different areas of the grill. I have scrubbed those spots with WD-40 but I am afraid that this will only slow the rust in those areas, and new areas are popping up all the time. I will likely need to get a high-heat spray paint and touch it up from time to time to keep the rust from spreading to aggressively. Keeping the grill completely dry will be impossible as there are going to be times when I am cooking outside when it is going to start raining and I will not be able to put the cover on the grill because the grill is still too hot. This is what has been happening. 3) The cover does not fit the grill well....it was not made to accommodate the exhaust pipe on top of the grill. Instead of shaping the cover in a way that would accommodate the exhaust pipe, they just made the cover larger than what was really needed for such a small grill, and that was their solution to the problem. Having said that, the cover is sized to protect the grill pretty well and the cover does seem to be well made. My grill sits out in full sun and so only time will tell. 4) This grill does not hold heat well. The max temperature the grill reaches with the exhaust closed is about 410 degrees. And, when you open this grill to flip your meats, etc. it loses temperature really fast and it is slow to get the temperature back up where you need it. I know this is one of the challenges of working with Charcoal, but the metal is just so thin on this grill that it really does not hold heat well. This has made cooking on this grill really challenging. I am planning to try a high heat charcoal to see if that can solve part of the problem. I have already checked to make sure that I am using proper charcoal preparation techniques, and it really seems like I am doing everything right (I am preheating the charcoal for 20 minutes in a charcoal chimney for example), it is just a limitation of the grill's materials. 5) This grill can be moved around, but the issue is that to me it feels like when I am moving it over my pavers that it is about to shake apart into pieces. Everything is so thin and so it just rattles like crazy. It is really light weight, but there is no good way to grab it to move it. To move it you have to grab it by the side table and push it along. But the side table is not on there in the most stable way, and so that also feels really precarious. Because this grill was so inexpensive, I wish that I could give it 3.5 stars, because 3 stars feels slightly too low, but 4 start is definitely too high. If you are looking for something inexpensive that will likely not last more than a few years (which is what I was looking for) then I think this grill could be a good value for you. I have not used the offset smoker on the grill yet, and probably will not until I get this whole charcoal thing down and figure out how to handle the issues with the lack of heat sustainability.

Great grill
Loved the grill but there is some gaps that have to be filled with gaskets to avoid the smoke of getting out, but otherwise it’s amazing.

Buena
