Good quality meter with top end features for the price
I bought this multi meter for the various features such as the Non Contact Live Wire detection, temperature sensor as well as the auto power off function. The quality of the plastics and probes seem of good quality. I like the clear display and the auto ranging. It seems to be accurate comparing with my other meter. It has caps on the probes at the meter end so ensure you remove these or you cannot plug them in :) It also has plugs on the tips which can be removed to allow longer exposed probes. The torch is a bit weak but just enough to provide light where you might need it in a dark environment. The back light on the display is good. I like the auto power off and can be disabled if required but holding down the Function key and turning the meter on by selecting a required mode. Ensure you have the temperature probe plugged in the correct way for accurate values. The hold function only works if you are testing and press it when required. You cannot press it and then probe to obtain a value. The min and max values work differently though so you can press this button and then probe for the min and max values which are saved. The Non Contact Voltage detection was a big reason to pick this version and it does appear to work fairly well. It has sometimes picked up 'voltages' when getting near metal objects to not sure how much I could trust it. It seems to measure AC and DC accurately compared to my other meter. Weirdly it comes with 2 AA batteries installed which is a bit strange since there are a few reviews out there where these have leaked and damaged the unit. I removed these on receiving the unit to replace with my preference of batteries. I've already reached out to the Astro AI support email to ask about an icon on the display and this was answered within 4 hours. It was the small timer icon (which means battery saver enabled) that was not documented in the manual. Overall a good quality if slightly large meter and I hope it lasts a long time.

Excellent multimeter, value for money
My Fluke was 40+ years old and ready for replacement Amazed at the increased functionality compared to Fluke Ok technology advances to be expected However definitely value for money

A great Bit of Kit
Well, I looked and looked! And there are a lot of them about and they may be as good as each other, except for the best of the bunch like Fluke, which you will pay an arm and a leg for, but it depends what you want it for. Me, I've been in the electronics trade for over 40 years. I was still using my old AVO, since they were always the best and will probably outlive me. But if you need something to measure Voltage, Current, Frequency, and Temperature for less than £30, then you cannot go wrong with this little beast. It is robust, for the inexperienced user it has all the safety bells and whistles, It makes use of a function select so you have an array of different measurements you can make under a single dial setting, what more can I say. I like it, and it appears to do exactly what it says on the box and I've still got my arm and my leg! D.

Astro AI digital multimeter
Fantastic piece of kit ….very sturdy and with auto Settings …. Checked my motorcycle battery as my bike will not start…. Need to check electrics …. Am sure I will find the fault with this multimeter… Am not an expert but this will be very helpful…. Delivered on time great value for my money… Would definitely purchase again … thank you

Great Product.
Great product. I have been using this multimeter for many projects over the last few months. Threw away the cheap batteries it came with and used a well known battery brand instead! The responsiveness of the meter is excellent as is the accuracy of the readings. Highly recommended product at the higher end of reasonably priced economy devices.

Versatile, robust bit of kit, NCV is quite weak.
All probe functionality seems to work fine. Torch and screen light are a nice touch. Works well for hobby electronics at least. Temperature probe also seems to work, though I can't confirm its accuracy. Tried out the NCV around my light sockets and it struggled to really pick anything up away from the socket itself so I wouldn't necessarily trust it too much for home wiring (though my house is old and the wiring is a bit of a mess).

Useless for milliamps - Read edit first
Edit- I would like to add that AstroAi customer support reached out to me after this review, and was very apologetic about the situation. They said they would forward the problem to their engineers to sort it out. They offered a full refund or replacement product to resolve the issues I had. This is very good customer service that a lot of manufacturers take for granted these days and in my opinion, is 100% worth mentioning before you read my initial review first. They also want to list the fuses used inside because there very uncommon where I live so parts were easily available to their customers. Thank you Stella. First of all, it's a nice meter. The light that shows you where you put your leads when you change the dial, very nice. But...the mA setting on it is a county mile away from being accurate, and the A setting is useless also for milliamps because it can't read low enough so you can't get an accurate reading either way. Probably good enough for a mechanic or someone using it for higher power draw jobs, but for PCB work of circuits you would be doing in college, forget about it. Also, impossible to get 600mA/250V 32mm where I am. Looked about getting them online from the usual electronic places and for a 50 cent fuse was 20 euro handling fee.

Easy to use
Finally been using this multimeter. Have so far only used the supplied leads. The leads could do to be longer, but that is the only issue I have had. I'm a mechanic and used this to chase a electrical fault. Found issues in minutes work well and easy to use. I would recommend to buy a case as it doesn't come with one and it keeps everything together and clean

Gummikåpan runt instrumentet skyddar bra. Har inte hunnit använda alla funktioner men verkar komplett.

Absolutely love this meter, nice and chunky but also not clunky. Works well, and nice large display when monitoring things over longer times. Only negative I have is the annoying beep that you hear if you set it not to turn off automatically which happens every 10ish minutes, but maybe its a good thing since you wont just forget it on. All in all recommend this, have recommended it to friends and also got a second to do dual measurements when needed.

Like the versatility and the features. Work light, noncontact AC power detector plus the other add on functions. The auto power off saves batteries and the batteries are cheaper to replace being AA rather than 9V. This is my second one of these meters. Used the first one for roughly a couple of years. First one got wet working on a sprinker and quit working. Immediately ordered another. Then took the first one apart to dry it out. Really like how sturdily the insides were build compared to other meters I have disassembled. Got it dried out and rinsed off with electronics cleaner and reassembled, it is back to working. The older one has taken numerous tumbles to concrete and steel and was still running till it got wet. I have 2 complaints about this meter. 1. One was in the original write up on the meter. The auto ranging is slow to change ranges so if you are checking a bunch of wires for power or reading resistances there is a several second delay between wires while it ranges each new wire. With one or two wires that is no problem but if you are checking dozens or hundreds it would be way nicer if it ranged faster. Get very frustrated with the wait each time. 2. Don't know about this meter but it looks identical to the original one and is the same model and the originals test leads were failing. Had a crack in the insulation in one lead and both leads there cracking at the strain relief to the probe. And this in only 2 years of moderate but fairly rough service use. Suggest plan on getting better replacement leads to put with it. While better water proofing would have been nice I truly do not think I can fairly expect it at this price point. Dreaming anyway. :) Overall for the price point I have been very happy with the old meter and expect that same of the duplicate new one

This multimeter is much better in person than it looks here. Absolutely the bet you can buy at this price and with the most features (true RMS and temperature probe). Only the +/- probes are kind of cheap and the cables are a bit short.

I am not a professional and I don't have any way to measure accuracy of this product. I used it a couple of times and it works. It got many features that I haven't tried. Overall it's good. One feature I like it's you can take out the battery when you don't use it/put new one when need.
