It provides excellent lubrication for A/C compressor systems while also including a UV dye for easy leak detection. So far so good after vacuuming and recharging the A/C on my 2006 Jeep Wrangler. The 8-ounce bottle was plenty, more than I needed, which was good because I spilled some of it as I was figuring out how to use the oil injector tool, a bit of a learning curve. I had never vacuumed down and recharged an automotive A/C system before. With the proper tools, it's an easy job for the DIY in you. After a week of constant use in nearly 100-degree heat, the A/C is still going strong and works perfectly. Pro: + This 8-ounce bottle, even including the cost of the injector, which was purchased separately, is more cost-effective than the little cans of R134a & oil mix. + This 8-ounce bottle is less expensive than the equivalent product found at the Auto parts store. The big-box store only had the more expensive R134a & oil mix cans. + The bottle can be capped off, and the remainder can be used for another job. + The bottle is clear, so you can see how much is left. Cons: - nothing so far I have one more vehicle that needs a bit of A/C work. Purchasing the gear, including the gauges, adapters, vacuum pump, oil injector, and this oil is still less expensive than taking it to the shop.

Get yourself a 365nm UV penlight that takes a AAA battery. GearLight sells a pair of them on Amazon for under $20. This is literally all you need. Inside my garage in broad daylight I pointed the tiny penlight at this bottle of oil with UV dye and it lit up brightly. I don't expect to have any trouble finding leaks using this product. Here's a tip, if you're going through all the work of fixing your own auto AC, change out the Schrader valves at the two charging ports. For $5, you'll get new valves, springs, seats, o-rings, and o-ring caps and you'll get some peace of mind that these two common leak points are sealed.

Works perfectly! Added it during my A/C service and it mixed well with the system. The UV dye is bright and easy to spot under UV light. Great quality and exactly as described.

I'm assuming the oil is actually pag134a like it says. Feels and smells like ref oil... Put a few drops into the service port tip then popped hoses on, lost a little during purging. Don't see a better way to get the oil into system unless youre opening up the compressor. The dye works, blended into the refrigerant no problem and if you do get leaks in the future or have them now it should show up on a UV light. Seems to have worked fine, not experiencing any issues with vehicle AC since I topped up oil during recharge. Price was reasonable and shipping was convenient. About all you can ask for.
