Curt 51180 51701 Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller with Betterweigh Mobile Towing Scale with Towsense Technology Bundle

I didn’t want to spend the extra money and mess with the brake control unit insulation in my jeep gladiator. I thought I would give this a try. It works great. I don’t see any reason to install a permanent brake control unit. I do find I like to have a setting for driving around in the city and stronger stronger setting for driving on the highway. The only thing I noticed with this unit is the rubber strap that is supposed to go around the unit and your plug cover doesn’t seem to work. The little Metal tab that sticks out dozen allow you to securely hold the strap. Maybe it’s some thing I have been doing wrong but it just doesn’t hold for me. I honestly don’t use the strap. I was thinking I could put a piece of Velcro around which would work better but it seems to hold very secure in my plug.

These work great and as advertised. Mobile towing scale really needs as flat an area as possible to get the best reliable data, but that should be expected. Initially installed it upside-down by mistake, but easy enough to identify and correct through the setup process. Good simple user interface for helping with user error.I do wish the trailer brake controller was more compact, and the included security strap is bordering on pointless. The securing "button" fell out on first use, making the strap itself not usable for me. That said, it stays in very well, and I am extremely happy with it.

First time use after buying and having in package for a couple of months It will not allow the trailer plug to plug into it as it is off from the pinout inside. As I try to push the plug in the plastic separates and plug falls out. This thing is junk! I had it too long to refund and I want to SAVE THE NEXT PERSON FROM MISERY! I will try to upload some pics to show exactly what I am talking about. but the trailer plug itself plugs into my truck just fine and this plugs into my truck just fine but after I lift ups the door to plug the trailer into this thing it doesn't work... it won't plug in and yes I took the strap out. It is just cheap plastic crap! Don't buy it!

Easy installation and app setup dialed in trailer brake with ease worked great towing new 28ft travel trailer home last weekend over 200 miles no issues didn't even feel like a trailer was behind me on steep grades

Was easy to setup and use. No complaints other than there’s no way to apply the trailer brakes only in an emergency unless you have the app up on the screen or you buy and add on piece. You’d thing something as critical as having quick control of the brakes would be provided with the brake controller

immediately installed and was super easy to reconnect every morning when we started the day. highly recommend

No connectivity, trailer did not have any lights. Ended uninstalling

Only received one part of the purchase in the package. Unable to attempt installing
