Works as it should!
This worked amazing for my 47 flathead! A lot of heat and a breaker bar on the ratchet and out they came. You will need to learn the finesse that it takes to make the studs break loose but the short of this review is the product grips the studs solidly and works as it should. Highly recommend!

Simple tool. Works.
Workers great for one application. Not so much the other but that was because space was tight and I was being cheap and lazy. So, that’s on me. If you several ratchet extensions of a similar length, it gets kinda annoying trying to grab the right one when they get mixed up. So, I suggest marking it. But otherwise, good tool. Just not for tight spaces and strange angles.

Well worth the money; removed bolts the heads twisted off of with ease!
This tool worked really well. I broke the heads off the bolts in my thermostat housing on my pickup truck. I have never changed it and I don't think it was changed recently by any previous owners. Because these bolts endure heat cycles and are just steel bolts, their heads twisted right off when I hit them with my ratchet and socket. What I did prior to using this tool was heat the bolts with a propane torch (MAP gas) and while it was hot, spray with PB Blaster. I did 4 or 5 rounds of this and tapped the ends of the bolts with a ball peen hammer like you would a nail. After several rounds of that and a ball of flame (PB Blaster is flammable, so keep your kids back), I attached the tool to the bolt. It is reverse threaded, so as you use your ratchet to "loosen", it is really tightening the tool around the bolt. I extracted the first easily. You hold the large chrome her nut with a BIG Crescent wrench and reverse the bolt out. Then came the second. It worked just as well on the second bolt, and I was VERY relieved as I didn't want to have to drill out the bolts. You can see in the pics of the bolts that the tool bites and holds on exposed threads well. It crushed them as you can see from the shiny threads where it bit in. Overall, I give it a 5 🌟 review. These bolts were fused to the surface of the block due to years of corrosion and nasty old thermostat gasket. I'm very happy I bought and tried this one.

Meeded tool
Works well at taking out broken studs, make sure you lock on before extracting. Very durable. Worth the money.

One of the best I've ever used!
Absolutely awesome tool and heavy duty! Well worth the price and if anything under valued. Recommend to everyone! Grips studs perfectly and used just a standard wratchet wrench and even a power tool with no issues... material is strong and well made. 10/10!

A 1 star rating is one star too many!
Having read some of the positive reviews, I had some pretty high expectations. In reality, the tool I received turned out to be a complete piece of garbage (made in communist China of course!). Instead of bitting properly into the seized stud I was trying to remove, the initially sharp edges on the 3 jaws completed collapsed because the steel used was obviously much too soft. No matter how tight the tool was tightened over the seized stud, no loosening of the stud could be achieved. Sending it back right away.

Worth a try

Works where others can't
I had a stripped engine stud that was in such an awkward position that I couldn't see it and could not easily get tools in place. It was a tight squeeze, but I managed to get this tool attached and tightened. I slowly turned the tool using large channel lock pliers and got the stud out. Then, because the tool is bi-directional, I could use it to put the stud back in later. Sounds strange, I know.

Too big
This item is very big in size. It can not fit in any tight spots to retract the bolt.
