Just flip the switch...
I decided to upgrade my router to allow me to add additional computers to my network with no changes to my existing installation and network configuration. This product was the ideal solution and works well as described. Connectivity is excellent and is truly plug and play to operate. I can now connect four additional computers to my router using this device. A good value.

Affordable and does the job
I've been needing a network switch for a while now. My internet plan offers decent speeds, but I was tired of devices fighting for bandwidth, especially during peak hours. After some research, I decided to go with the TP-Link 5 Port 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet Switch, and I'm happy to report that it's been a great addition to my home network. **Setup was a breeze.** The switch is truly plug-and-play. I simply connected it to my router and then plugged in my devices (computers, gaming consoles, smart TV) to the switch's five ports. No configuration was needed, and everything worked seamlessly right out of the box. **Performance has been noticeably improved.** Downloads are faster, online gaming is smoother, and video streaming is uninterrupted. The 100 Mbps speed might not be the latest gigabit technology, but it's a significant upgrade from my previous setup and more than enough for my needs. **I also appreciate the compact design.** The switch is small and lightweight, so it fits easily on my desk without taking up too much space. It also runs silently, which is a plus since it's located in my living room. **Here are some additional points that I like:** * **Auto-MDI/MDIX:** This means I don't need to worry about using crossover cables, which simplifies things even further. * **Energy-efficient:** The switch uses less power than traditional unmanaged switches, which is good for the environment and my wallet. * **Affordable:** I found the TP-Link switch to be very budget-friendly, especially considering its performance and ease of use. **Overall, I'm very pleased with the TP-Link 5 Port 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet Switch.** If you're looking for a simple and affordable way to expand your home network and improve your internet speeds, I highly recommend this product. It's been a reliable and hassle-free solution for me. **Just a few things to keep in mind:** * This switch only offers 10/100 Mbps speeds, so if you have a gigabit internet plan, you'll need a different model. * It's an unmanaged switch, which means you don't have any advanced configuration options. If you need more control over your network, you'll need a managed switch. But for most home users, this TP-Link switch is a great option. It's easy to use, delivers noticeable performance improvements, and is very affordable.

The only Ethernet switch you'll ever need!
I chose to purchase the TP-Link five port Ethernet Unmanaged Switch for my apartment to connect multiple devices that required an internet connection. The TP-link is perfect for anyone who needs to connect more than one device to Ethernet internet connections, such as college students, business owners, or the everyday person. I evaluated this device on five different criteria points: size, connection speed, price, power usage, and durability. Below are my findings. The size of this device is perfect in my mind. It is about the size of a normal 3x5 in. flash card and about an inch tall. It takes up almost no room at all, perfect for placing on or behind a desk. Connection speed is amazing! Each of the five ports is capable of internet connection speeds from 10 to 100mbps, which is very good, and they all support Auto MDI/MDIX. There is also no configuration required, just plug in an Ethernet cord from your device into this one and you’re ready to go! It’s just that easy! For less than 10$, this device is the best bang for your buck, worth every penny! It is the cheapest model that I could find on Amazon The power usage for this device is very low, in fact, its energy efficient! It consumes up to 60% less than any other device. I have had this device for over three months now and the only problem I’ve had with it is accidentally unplugging the power to the device. It has held up amazingly well and I couldn’t be happier! Overall, this device is amazing and works like a charm. It is not very expensive and takes up barely any space at all. If you are tired of Wi-Fi not working and only have one port accessible, this is the device for you! I give this device 5 out of 5 stars.

TP-Link Fast Ethernet Switch - Reliable Networking Hub with Room for Improvement
The TP-Link 5 Port 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet Switch has proven to be a dependable networking solution for my desktop setup. This Ethernet splitter serves its purpose well, providing efficient connectivity for multiple devices. The compact design is convenient for desktop use, and the 5 ports offer ample connections for various devices such as computers, printers, and gaming consoles. The plug-and-play setup makes installation a breeze, ensuring a quick and straightforward process. The switch operates smoothly, delivering consistent performance for my wired devices. The 10/100 Mbps speed is suitable for everyday tasks, ensuring reliable data transfer. However, for users with higher bandwidth needs, an upgrade to a Gigabit version may be worth considering. While the TP-Link Fast Ethernet Switch meets my current networking requirements, I can't help but wish for a Gigabit option within the same compact design. Despite this, it's a 4-star product that delivers on reliability, simplicity, and value. Recommended for users with moderate networking needs!

Awesome.
So I bought this switch because I only had one Ethernet port in my room but had to split that cable into 4 separate cables in order to provide Ethernet to 2 desktops and 2 laptops in my dorm room. Really, I couldn't be any more impressed, it works flawlessly right from the box, it's incredibly cheap for what it is, and it looks great next to all of our other networking stuff. It runs at the maximum speed of the internet we're provided and I haven't had any problems with it since getting it 4 months ago. The box hasn't cut out since I got it and it has worked extremely reliably since getting it. One smart tip for it is to get some double sided tape in order to tape it down as it's quite light and the cables connected to it can move it around, just for the aesthetic of the device. Another thing to consider with this is your internet service provider as I know some of them don't actually allow for switches if you're getting your internet straight from an Ethernet port from the wall rather than a modem providing Ethernet to your house. I had to call out internet provider and get everything sorted out to make it it was all find and working. But after that the switch worked perfectly and I haven't had to touch it since. Of course the previous warning is unnecessary if you have your internet from a jack connected to your modem, because in that case you're in control of your internet and everything. Again, this is just a great switch and it does everything it says in a small perfect little package.

Great for Extending Ports on Router
This is a very good switch for extending the ethernet ports on my router. My router only comes with 4 ethernet ports and I had used all of them, so I bought this switch. I opted for the fast ethernet model instead of the gigabit model and while my router has speeds above what this switch provides to other devices, it still works great. The devices that attach via the ethernet cable to this switch don't need speeds higher than what this switch provides so it all works out. I read another review that said it was hard to tell which ports were activated by looking at the lights on the switch, but I would not agree. When a port is activated and be used by a device there is a green light that lights up for the correlating number of the port. This green light illuminates the other ports that are not in use, but it is obvious to tell which ports are actively being used. I have this switch connected to various devices like a Windows PC, an IP phone, and an old Macbook Pro. So far after having this product for 5 months, there has been no issues and it seems to be compatible with all these devices. It also does not get hot or overheated and installation is very easy. Just take an ethernet cable and run it from your router to any of the switch ports. Then plug an ethernet cable into the switch and run it to your device. The switch will handle detecting whether the ethernet cable is an input or an output. Overall, this was a great purchase and I would recommend it.

Outstanding Switch for the Price!
This is an outstanding choice, especially considering the price! I have now ordered my third unit after using two of them to set up my living room and game room. We recently moved into a new house we had built with full network wiring, and wanted to take advantage of it so that we didn't have so many items competing for the limited number of wireless channels. My first two went to our family room, handling a TV, BluRay, Uverse receiver, Home Theater Amp, and Control4 unit, and to our game room with a TV, PS4, and XBox One. Both rooms function flawlessly, and we have had no issues at all with the switch. As advertised, it runs cool and has barely ever felt warm to the touch at all. I'm getting the third one to handle the equipment in the master bedroom, and am confident that it will handle it just fine. I currently pay for 50mb/sec speeds, so I'm not really pushing the limits trying to run gigabit service through it (It's available, but I still don't see the benefit of having it right now until I am consistently downloading large enough files that justify the cost.), but I have simultaneously had large files downloading on both the gaming units while the wife watches Netflix in the living room, and noticed no drag on the speeds at all. Also, it's small enough that it can sit behind your equipment and basically remain hidden from view, if you so choose. Definitely worth the money!

Needed more ports.
Works fine. Five port was no longer sufficient for our needs. Should have gone bigger to begin with.
