Trimaco 10102 SuperTuff Sponge, 2 Pack Staining Pad

I recently used these Trimaco SuperTuff Staining Pads to stain a large wood beam in my office, and the results were incredible. I usually use brushes, but these sponges provided a far superior application. They hold the stain exceptionally well without dripping, and the material allows you to lay down the color in smooth, even strokes. I had zero streaks or blotchiness, which is exactly what you want when staining a prominent architectural feature like a beam. The pad is also incredibly durable and maintained its shape and integrity throughout the entire project. The two-pack gave me exactly what I needed—one for the initial stain application and the second for wiping/smoothing the excess. If you are tackling a staining project (big or small), these pads are a non-negotiable tool. They deliver a professional finish with minimal effort. Highly recommend!

Great way to apply stain! These worked perfectly.

. They soak up the stain and leaves a streak free finish. It makes restaining a large piece of furniture easier. When I I place it in a ziplock bag and it’s ready for the next day. Be careful how you store them after use.

Worked great for staining!

I'm new to staining and have tried a couple projects both with bristle brushes and foam brushes. The projects did not go super well and I think a big part of it was the brushes I was using (combined with my ineptitude). For my next project, I wanted to have really clean lines and easy application so I used this sponge brush and it was so much easier to apply. I was making a long bench. At first I tried to go in one long line with the sponge, but the bench was too long and it was starting to look a little streaky. For the next coat I still went with the grain but did a back and forth motion to make sure to get into all the spaces evenly, and my husband wiped the stain behind me. This worked so much better and the lines looked so even and beautiful. And using a sponge instead of a paintbrush made it much easier and faster to apply. Staining projects are so time intensive and potentially expensive that it's worth having the right tools to make it happen - I highly recommend using this sponge. I will be buying more for future projects.

quality and fair price!

Came as a recommended product to some teak oil. Sponging untreated wood with oil is a tough ask for a sponge. These did ok, but started to fray a bit, leaving a bit of fabric caught up in the oil. Next time I will need to switch them out a bit earler.

I used this for apply a water based stain from Samac and it turned out very well. Durable and easy to clean for reuse.

These are great for applying uniformly thin coats of varnish. They wash up nicely too.
