Q: What are the speaker dimensions?

For the 8" speaker: outer frame is 8 3/8" diameter, mounting depth is 3 7/8", and the hole cut out is 6 15/16" diameter. This is from the spec sheet that came with the speaker.

Q: I’m replacing a factory sub with this one. Do I need to install an amp or is it ready to go?

No! You will need a amp !! I did !! I had it installed in my Dodge Charger and I hated it !! The speaker is not for open air , it would be better in a small box ! I didn’t end up using it.
