I use this stand for all kinds of activities.... Note taking, music reading, end table, project parts table - but I don't recommend it for a laptop. It's sturdy enough, but since it only has three legs (which I can't fault it for), I would not recommend as a laptop stand.

Bought this stand mainly for my projector, and it works great when the top surface is flat and it holds everything steady, easy to adjust height, and setup is quick. The problem comes when you tilt the platform for better projection angle. It doesn't have enough grip or support to keep things from shifting. Even a slight accidental push (like bumping the coffee table while watching a movie on the sofa) makes the whole thing move way too easily. Would be perfect if it had some kind of locking mechanism or rubber grips to prevent sliding from light contact. Still useful overall, but keep that in mind if you plan to use tilt a lot.

Okay. So if you are reading this needing to know if it is good/bad for what it was intended for - then skip this review. My review is based on the need to have something to place my laptop on while I sit on my LoveSac to watch my streaming shows without having to hold the laptop on my lap or place it precariously on the beanbag chair - all the while worrying I am getting something not-so-good-for-me radiating into my legs/abdomen or an other part of my body (with my device so close to me). This enables me to watch my shows from a distance, as if my laptop were mounted on the wall like a real flat screen. I can move it with ease wherever and whenever I need to move my body to change position without having to change anything on the stand - which by the way, there are so many variances with height adjustment, angle, etc. The actual part that the laptop sits on can rotate 360 degrees with ease without compromising stability. All I can say is this: I have not been so stoked with a product since I came across this item in a very long time. Super easy to assemble (part of the tripod stick portion nestles into the main rod, so remember to pull it out to access it, don't call the company like I did stating a missing part) and worth every penny. To the company who makes this - KUDOS. And to all you people out there who use your laptop to stream your shows with - who lounge on a bed or a couch or anywhere else... this is a MUST.

I'm using this for Guitar Amp Pedals (UA Dream 65 and Lion) to elevate for easier user access when exploring sounds, as well as a Small Synthesizers for little jams. This one is a good height for sitting or standing, but maybe a bit more unstable at it's full height extension, especially if your rockin hard on a synth. It is well made and serving my purpose. The tray is plastic and must be screwed on.

I recently got a projector and a screen and thought that a little stand like this would be much better than having to haul a table around when I do presentations. The stand itself is good. It is sturdy and I like how I can adjust the height. It is nice that it has a pin for the height so it is more secure than just the friction grip. The stand feels stable enough that I trust it with my $2,000 projector, which is obviously very important when you have something of that value sitting on it. What really impressed me too is their support. My package arrived and the screw package looked like one end hadn't been sealed right and only had 1 of the 5 screws. I reached out to support and after getting my information shipped me the screws within a few days. All companies will have problems, but the sign of a good company is how it solves those problems. They did a good job solving this problem so in my mind they are a very good company and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

The Tripod is fantastic! We were concerned it might be flimsy and unstable, but we were mistaken. It is robust and adjusts to the height we needed. The three feet offer solid support. We are very pleased.
