Great Game! Came in perfect condition.
I forgot how fun this game was. I bought it recently to fill-out my Dreamcast collection. The controls are a little dated, and the levels are bland, but itโs a fun mindless game with a cool story and fun basic gameplay. The disc itself came in NEAR PERFECT condition. I was actually shocked.

A Must Own Dreamcast Game
Maken X is a must own game if you own a Dreamcast, not just for fun unique gameplay, but also because of this games style and hilarity. It's a first person hack n' slash game where you lock on to enemies and strafe around them. You brainjack people and take over their bodies, and there's an experience system that raises your BJ (brainjacking) rank. Watching your BJ rank raise is always a pleasant feeling. The dialog and plot is awesome, the enemies look like something straight from traditional Asian horror flicks and the main character is a school girl trying to save her kidnapped father. The game is a perfect blend of difficulty and feel. Simply playing the game will put a smile on your face, and its developed by Atlus, the creators of Persona and Catherine. Watch the Classic Game Room review on Youtube, its the perfect review of this game. If you like hillarious and offbeat games like Blue Stinger, Dynamite Cop, and Illbleed... buy this game. It doesn't hurt that its cheap.

MAKEN X!!!
This kind of game was ahead of itโs time for a first person sword game. It instantly became one of my favorite retro games and awesome Dreamcast gem.

Its unique. Its weird. Its Atlus.
Maken X is a weird game. The story has to do with a sword named Maken (or what ever you want) that has sentience as you guide it to either save humanity, cause its end, or be neutral. You would think the girl on the cover would be the main character, but you only use her body for 1 stage (as far as I know). Now what I mean by "use her body" is the main mechanic of this game, BrainJacking. Maken has the power to possess anyone who handles it. Its a bit like car jacking in GTA, except cooler in my opinion. The other main aspect that sets this game apart from others is the way its played. It is a hack and slash action platformer, but the game takes place fully from first person. The controls are easy enough to get used to, but it is a bit weird getting used to the platforming and the different characters you can play as. This game is not for everyone. If you don't like playing in the first person, or don't think you can get used to the controls, then there are other fine action games, and hack and slash games on the Dreamcast. If you still want to give this game a shot, but dont want to play in first person, there was a ps2 remake the changed the camera from first to third person. The remake was Japan only, and the game is very text heavy, so proceed with caution.
