Great value. Purchased after a strong wind blew our double doors open. Feels much more reliable than the old chain lock. Applied in to single and double doors, works well.

PROS: -got here fast -very high quality -works on in-swing AND OUT-SWING doors CONS: -install is a little tricky if you want the latch to drop in smoothly -screw that come with it are not what you need to properly secure this to the door and frame EXPLANATIONS: I would definitely buy these again. My landlord refused to install deadbolts so I installed these because my front door is in-swing and my back door is out-swing. I wanted something to match but that would also be study like a deadbolt. The key is getting better screws. The screws that came with the prouct are size 6 (diameter) and are one inch long. I was looking for home security, so I got the longest screws I could find based on the width of the frame and the door. In the video, I am putting my whole body wight into opening the door (25F, 210 lbs) and NOTHING. I feel so safe in my house now :) Side note: youre supposed to use size 6 screws but you can use size 8, its just more finicky because they BARELY fit.

Measure your mounting area before purchasing. This will not work on some (most) sliding glass doors as the mounting bracket encroaches into the glass. They make 2 sizes, shank spans 2 1/8 and 1 1/8. Choose wisely or the glass will shatter. Other than the sizing, the product is heavy duty and well made. I am returning the big shank for the smaller shank.

I’m using this on my storm door as extra reinforcement so my special needs teenager can’t wear down the handle lock or push the door open and run out (like he did on my mother’s door, and so outsiders can’t rip the door open and get in. This is very strong, easy to install and easy to use. I’m 50, female, and it took me less than 10 minutes to get my drill and install this lock. I marked the holes on the frame with a pen, pre-drilled the holes with a drill bit and then drilled the screws in. It’s very secure in both the frame and the door, and I’m very happy with this product! I was not compensated in any way for my review.

Works perfectly and easy to install

Aside from the tool criminals use to gently shatter your whole glass, this little lock gives you that extra minute to go grab a defensive tool after they crowbar the latch lock open. Our house is like Fort Knox except for a stick in the sliding door, which isn't "always in" due to bending over etc. Not the most decorative piece but we put it higher up. You can put this anywhere, even on a molding frame that isn't flat, just use longer nails for stability.

We have a backyard pool and have ugly alarms on the doors that we had to install when we had our pool built years ago. We stayed at a Ritz Carlton a few years ago and they had locks similar to these on the slider doors. We really like these. They looked a LOT better than the ugly alarm and we have ours installed at the top of the door so the little kids can't reach them. I am removing the ugly alarms. We just bought another one of these recently for another door. Easy to install too!!!
