I am using it to control robotics motors. One caveat is that NetworkManager cannot configure CAN interfaces so you have to use systemd-networkd. The two do not always play nicely so you may have to uninstall NetworkManager. systemd-networkd is useful if you want to make configurations persistent, for example setting the buffer size. Otherwise you have to run the configuration commands on every boot.

Easy to integrate and use.

Everything worked as expected and easy to connect to an Arduino module. Lots of software available so that makes writing programs for this module much easier. Also has the CAN termination resistors on board. Jumper selectable operating voltage of either 5 volts or 3.3 volts.

Worked with rpi4 the only issue is at least on my unit the can0 and can1 interfaces are labeled backwards. Has been useful in reverse engineering modules in my car to replace them with more modern tech.

I bought this CAN expansion to setup RPi as a Companion Computer on my UAV. Works perfectly! On my UAV all actuators/sensors connected to ArduPilot over CAN bus.

It works as intended. However, unless you know exactly what you are doing be prepared to do a lot of research figured this out and getting it connected to your project. It did have support e-documentation via a link to their wiki, but even still some information is not provided even in their "step-by-step" instructions. I guess they assume if you buy this, you have to know what you are doing. Overall, it does work, just a pain if using a CAN HAT for the first time.

It worked as described

Works great for controlling a motor drive by CAN bus and monitoring CAN bus activity. I've run it up to 1 Mbps.But before you buy this, Google "waveshare can bus wiki" to find the steps on how to build and install the driver from source code. Make sure you can follow those steps if you want to use this board for things like Python scripts.The board itself has a header that has holes to the other side. They include a header with very long pins so that the pins go all the way through and you can stack other hats on top of this board. Example photo I'm posting shows stacking a tiny OLED display on top (not included).
