i know that you dont offer an extension cable but if one can can it be used for this light ? if so what size male and female plugs would it require ?

I forgot to mention that it connects to the solar panel with its own cable so you won’t be able to add an extension lead

Does this charge in daylight (overcast/cloudy) or just in bright sunlight?

Yes. One light had failed due to water ingress-had to put sealant in all screw holes. Very bright lights.

Is the light sensor in the solar panel or in the lamp unit ? Our shed is dark with the door closed - hence my query?

The sensor is located at the bottom of the light unit, the white bit in the image. Note they only come on for about 15 seconds when set to the sensor. There is a small button on the front next to the sensor that you can use to set them on all the time and also a low level of light output. You must remember to set them back to sensor when you leave your shed or the battery will go flat - lol
