Riedel Vinum Martini Glasses - Crystal Glass, Dishwasher Safe, 2-Piece Set - Essential Home Bar Glassware 6416/77

Why? Because the design, proportions, quality of the glass etc. is exactly correct. At least, they are the most aesthetically pleasing martini glass I've seen. I'm not a fan of glasses with etched designs on them, or thick stems etc. These are delicate and simple. Exactly correct for what they need to be IMHO. I have six in constant rotation with a couple of backups in case one chips, which they do on rare occasions, but that's not the fault of the glasses, in fact they hold up remarkably well. I've had them for many years and they do get lots of use but still look as good as the day I bought them. Plus I've given them as gifts - it's nice to give something to someone that you think is "the best"!

Anyone remember when a martini was a martini? Or when a martini glass wasn’t a fish bowl? This perfect set will take you back to those golden days of the perfect, real, well chilled, straight up martini. The crystal is indeed good crystal, so my only warning is to be careful as these can chip because they are fine. But I’ve bought two sets already, highly recommended as the right size to keep a drink both elegant and well chilled. And right sized to enjoy more than one should the moment meet that joy. Highly recommended.

There are newer brands of crystal stemware on the market that get higher reviews, but they are much more expensive and I question whether they are worth the additional cost. We have never been disappointed in a Riedel product. They have two quality lines: a premium line and a lower cost line. This line, Vinum, is the lower cost line. We have both. The top line is what I recommend for wine glasses and this line is fine for cocktails. Excellent quality/price ratio.

Big fan of Riedel glasses so I wanted to add to collection with some martini glasses. Received them and decided they were too small. The website was clear though and says how many ounces but it's hard to tell until you see the glass. These days everyone is using a much larger martini glass so it appears tiny compared to others. I ended up returning and got some others that were about 8oz glasses. If you don't mind a small martini glass (5oz) then these glasses are great.

In many years of drinking from many martini glasses I have never found ones as good as these. They're absurdly expensive. But they also have the perfect hand-feel, which is impossible to describe online but easy to sense every time you pick up the glass. The glasses hold just the right amount of liquor. If you or your date manage to avoid knocking them over, they'll last for a very long time and remain unblemished by washings and dishwashers. I want to find cheaper martini glasses as good as these. I just haven't.

These glasses harken back to a day when cocktails weren't served in a bucket. These are legit 2oz pour glasses, classy and elegant, but much smaller than current xl cocktail glasses. If you need more, mix another and enjoy the presentation. Highly recommended.

I had a hard time giving these 5 stars on value, but then I thought about it for a minute. Yes, these glasses are expensive, but I would not have purchased them if I didn't think they would be worth it. They are extremely well made. They are also the perfect size. In this age of huge martini glasses, it's nice to finally find one that fits the classic recipes. 3 oz of booze, stirred on ice 52 times, then strained into the glass with 2 olives leaves exactly 1/8" of headspace. Every time. Exactly as it should be.

We bought these glasses wanting a more traditional (smaller) sized martini glass. While the size was perfect, we had a glass shatter in the dishwasher during the first wash. Thinking this was a manufacturing defect, we reached out to Riedel who advised that since this was purchased through Amazon no warranty applied. We subsequently reached out to Amazon for a replacement - and although they provided one, unfortunately the same thing occurred: one of the two glasses shattered. Overall, a 50% failure rate for the first wash in the dishwasher for two completely different sets of glassware. No idea how they advertise these as dishwasher safe - clearly there are design defects that prevent that from being the case.

I love the size of these glasses! We downsized our larger Martini glasses to these - making it so much easier to serve mixed drinks to a crowd (3 drinks per shaker). You don't have to have 1 mega Martini, its actually far nicer to have 2 or 3 ice cold fresh cocktails over the course of the evening. Or just a small Martini as an aperitif before the dinner wine.

Absolutely beautiful. They take pride of place on my bar and I use them all the time. Just be careful as they aren't inexpensive if you break one!
