It does what you want and does it very well, but also gives you so much more for the money you pay. There are plenty of advantages over your standard Wall Wort type Power adapter, among which are: You get a digital display that shows the DC voltage output value, which is also what you use to set the desired output voltage level. The potentiometer is very smooth and not too tight, such that it's easy to achieve the actual voltage value you need. The output voltage is accurate to what is displayed on the display of the power adapter, and also it's easier to use than many of the standard AC/DC power adapters in that you have a long cord that gives you a nice tight plug to use to plug into the outlet verses several other Power Adapters on the market what contain the transformer within the plug that you plug into the outlet source. The vast and large selection of adapters that are included with the power adapter also mean that this is a multipurpose Power Adapter that you can use with several different devices requiring many different plugs. This means you only need one adapter rather than one for each device, or you have one adapter that works across several other devices. As long as you specify the correct amperage sufficient to operate all your different DC devices, you only have to make one purchase rather than many different ones.

I've bought 4 of these for use on work projects and for myself or others who have a bunch of DC barrel-plug devices sitting around for years with missing power adapters. They've always been reliable and I've never found something with a barrel plug that this couldn't match. The included bare-wire terminal helps with ad-hoc electronics projects, the polarity reverser covers that base, and the USB plugs are a handy addition. Great purchase!

Been using this for a little over a month for powering a blu ray drive. Works well. The connectors have a firm fit. The power supply can easily be adjusted from 3.3 to 24 volts, but the knob is a little tricky to get dialed in perfectly. It is very sensitive. The case is metal and the cords are thick making this unit very durable. There are no fans so it makes no noise. The only reason for 4 stars is because of the sensitive knob. Maybe have switches to select a power range? Comes with tons of different barrel plugs and adapters making it useful for any device. Even comes with a sheet to identify the size of every barrel plug. Also comes with a plug for reversing polarity.

Works great works as it should

This is a compact variable DC power supply. It has a digital display of the output voltage which is accurate to 2 decimal places. The power supply comes with a variety of adapters to fit many DC input connectors. It also has an adapter for bare wires, which is what I am using. The nob to adjust the voltage is very sensitive, it doesn't take very much movement to change the voltage by a tenth or so, so dialing in the desired voltage requires care. Once set, the power supply seems to be very stable over a 50-degree temperature range. I am using the power supply in an unheated outdoor shed and temperature has gone down to the high teens so far this winter. I am very pleased with the quality of this device considering it's very reasonable price.

This is great use around the house so many think needed charger with different plugs.This worked out great. Also can change the voltage to your need.

I purchased this power pack for a laptop that required 19 volts. This product fit my needs and can be used for multiple devices. One thing over time the voltage may drop below 19 volts and go above 19 volts. Over time you can make small adjustments and hit will hold right on 19 volts. There is another version that has small clicks that make it easier to adjust the voltage. Overall I am pleased with this purchase. I ordered one prior that was 19 volts only and I heard a pop after around 10 minutes, and power pack died.

This power supply just didn’t work. When I plugged it in, the LED lit up and using the knob, I was able to adjust what I thought was the voltage output. However, when I connected the power supply to any type of load, everything went dark. There was no power output, there were no lights from the LED on the front of the unit, it was just dead. This unit is a complete junk. Do not buy. Unfortunately, I waited until after the return period was up to try it out. So, I am stuck with this piece of junk. Do not buy.

This is great to precisely dial in whatever voltage you need. For example, some devices want 5.1V, not 5V, but it's rare to see an adapter give 5.1 instead of 5.0. Tested with a multimeter and it's accurate and only 0.2V cable loss (e.g. showing 5.4V on display reads 5.2V with multimeter). Unlike some reviews that complained that the dial is weighted too much on the lower voltages, I found the middle of the dial to be about 14V. I actually would be preferred it to be weighted towards the lower voltages since those are the ones you would use most often and it's tricky to move the sensitive dial to get the exact volts you want. The only issue with this is how easy it would be to rotate the dial, even accidently, and thus fry your devices. I'm only going to use this for bench testing, but if you want to use this to power a specific device, you'll need to tape down the dial very well to keep it from moving. Even with bench testing, it only takes a small nudge to accidently move the dial from, say, 4V to 6V, which might be enough to damage your devices, so I have to be very careful and set the volts first, before attaching my device. But overall, I'm happy with it. Just have to be very careful with it.
