IT WORKS GREAT! ***YOU MUST READ THIS FIRST***
The Egg Pod works exactly as described and shown in the TV commercial. But you MUST use it properly and follow the instructions. EGG EXPLODING If you put an egg in a regular container in the microwave, it will explode. The reason that Egg Pod works is because the eggs are enclosed in aluminum that blocks the microwaves. The eggs are actually cooked from the steam and not microwave radiation. There is a bottom aluminum insert that the eggs sit in and a top aluminum insert that fits into the top plastic cover. YOU MUST USE BOTH INSERTS! If you look at any of the pictures of an exploded egg, you never see the complete product. That is, the top insert is always missing in the pictures. Of course, the egg will explode! If you use the product as described with the top and bottom inserts assembled (which are well marked), the eggs will not and cannot explode. COOK TIME The product is designed to make hard-boiled eggs. Soft-boiled eggs will be too soft for the shake and peel function. 9 minutes is an average cook item for 4 eggs in a standard microwave. You can adjust by 30 second increments to cook the eggs exactly how you like them. I have an 1100 watt microwave and 8 minutes is perfect for me. COOLING & PEELING You must cool the eggs for 2 minutes before peeling. The cold water makes the egg contract and makes peeling of the shell easier. You can run cold water for 2 minutes, or simply add fresh water and add ice cubes, then wait 2 minutes. Do not remove the water/ice before shaking. The water is necessary for the peeling process. Shake firmly, up and down, 10 times. If the shells don’t fall right off, it’s because you didn’t shake it hard enough. I use my Egg Pod every day and love it. It’s fast and easy. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. Follow the directions and you’ll have the same experience.

Egg-cellent
This is a pretty easy doodad to work with. It, probably, doesn’t save time, as opposed to boiling water and making hard-boiled eggs in a pot, but it is fairly efficient. They suggest microwaving eggs for 9 minutes. Since every microwave is different, you may need to cook your eggs more or less time than that. 9 minutes is a good starting point. I find that 10 minutes and 15 seconds works best for me. There’s a warning not to exceed cooking eggs in this thing for more than 11 minutes. I was a little skeptical about how easy the eggs would peel using this thing, but once your eggs are cooked, rested (for two minutes) and cooled (with cold water), this thing, with the eggs in it, can be given ten vigorous shakes, and that breaks the shells on the eggs rather nicely. From there, the shells can be easily peeled from the eggs. This is not a “can’t live without it” kind of thing but it does its job, well, and is a nice thing to have. Its one drawback is that you can only cook four eggs at a time with it. It would be nice if you could cook six. Maybe, in the future, they may come up with an expanded version of this. I understand that it wouldn’t be practical if something like this was too large and cumbersome to lift, but it would be nice if it could handle two more eggs. As it is, it’s a less messy and reliable method for making hard-boiled eggs and for that reason, alone, it’s, probably, worth it, in terms of less muss and fuss.

One of my favorite cooking tools in my kitchen
Seriously folks, I love this thing. It works exactly as advertised. Follow the instructions and you should have no problem. I actually bought 2 of them. One for home, a second to use in our restaurant kitchen in the Caribbean. We live on a small island and most of what we serve in our restaurant is local grown, raised, or caught in our waters. Because our eggs are so fresh they are difficult to peel when hardboiled. They say fresh eggs should be steamed to easily remove the shell. This egg pod is brilliant! 10 mins in the microwave, and when cooled, the shells peel right off! It's been a huge time saver for us, not to mention it leaves us with an entire egg, not bits of it due to the white pulling away with the shell. I recommend this to anyone who hard boiles eggs on a regular basis. I especially recommend it for anyone using farm fresh eggs. With that said, my only complaint is that the aluminum insert on the lid does not hold in place well. Im always having to reinsert it. Anyway, its a great egg cooker, especially for the money. I suggest you give it a try. Oh, be sure to use it according to the directions! As someone before me posted, the size of the egg does matter. If I leave the cooker in the microwave longer than 11 mins, it over heats. Follow the suggested times in the instructions. Another writer posted problems getting bits and pieces of shell out of the bottom section if you use the shake method. Well, simply tug on the yellow ring and remove the bottom metal dish to clean it out. Once its clean simply snap it back into place. I clean mine after every use!

It really works - perfectly hard boils four eggs at a time.
I was skeptical when my husband ordered this, but we're really happy with the Eggpod. iIt's very easy to use and the eggs are done just right every time I've used it - about 5 times so far. I tried the shelling method suggested where after the eggs cool you fill the pod with cold water, close, and shake. That just created a mess. The shells come off easily anyway by just tapping and peeling. I also tried soft boiling by microwaving for only 7 minutes instead of 9 - worked great! Always use both metal inserts. I forgot the top insert once and it didn't end well. The eggs exploded, blew the top off the pod, blew open the microwave door, and short circuited half our kitchen. Fortunately both the Eggpod and the microwave survived intact. The instructions are very clear about making sure both inserts are in place - for good reason.

Eigentliche Funktion ist ok. Innenverschalung läßt sich nicht vollständig herausnehmen, dadurch können sich hier auf Dauer Essenreste ansammeln, die sich auch bei gründlicher Reinigung nicht entfernen lassen. Sehr mangelhaftes Design.

Update - I have found that when using the cooker that i need to make sure there is always have water in it A couple times when using different sized but. Still Large sized eggs the cooker would smell if it was dry. I haven’t noticed any real loss of time on cooking eggs when stopping the microwave and quickly adding more water, thankfully - I was a bit skeptical at first but decided to buy the actual Eggpod We decided that the bought pre boiled eggs are great but the problem is that they are in bags of 12 and that means that we have to eat them All in 3 days before they go bad. That wasn’t a long term solution. Cooking them on the stovetop is fine but there is a bit of a mess often at the end After using the cooker this is what I find… The pod fit into it with room to spare in our smaller 700w microwave Cooked it the 9mins then tested an egg Added another minute check egg #2 Done. To be honest I shook the eggs more than 10 as at the time I was expecting to hear more noise, with solid eggs inside and was wondering if I shaking it enough?? Yes I had as you can see by the picture as egg white bits were also loose from the egg. The eggs I think are more soft and tender compared to stovetop boiled eggs , so extra shaking was too much but it’s great for easy mashing Yes, I read about the metal in the top coming apart and the top does have a bit of a rattle sound when it is together but the metal insert does slide into the plastic and I found that if careful then the two pieces stay together. It’s actually a good thing that the two pieces come apart fairly easily as the steam goes up and you can wipe it dry for the next time. The fill line is the metal cups which is smart thinking by them and handy too as one may not always have the little plastic cup Overall, happy to haves found something that really works.

Intenté usarlo varias veces y en todas terminó en desastre! Los huevos revientan y se hace un tiradero. Mejor haz tus huevos duros de la manera tradicional.
