Spicer 3-70-28X Bearing Strap Kit

I own an '83 GMC K1500 square body pickup. It has a GM 8.5 10 bolt rear end. The u-joint at the rear diff was a 1350 outside clip (at driveshaft rear) x Mech 3R inside clip (at differential). I ended up upgrading the differential yoke to a Yukon YY GM8.5-1350-C, which allowed me to run a stronger 1350 x 1350 u-joint. Initially, I bought a fairly inexpensive u-joint strap kit from Rock Auto, which was sized for a standard OEM 1350 u-joint yoke. However, I found out that it did not fit my newly upgraded aftermarket yoke (hole spacing was too narrow). After a bit of research, I nearly spent almost double on Yukon's u-joint strap kit that fit their yoke. Fortunately, I did some research and found that this Spicer strap kit had the same hole spacing as Yukon's kit. Per usual, I was not disappointed with Spicer. The straps are heavy duty and the bolts come pre-loctited. Excellent quality at a price that won't break the bank!

The bolts had dried loctight on them hard as concrete. Had to clean that stuff off after the first bolt started to booger the threads up on my yoke. Tap and dye set made quick work. Other then that they were great

these are 1350/1410 u joint straps, very good quality, hardened bolts and treated straps.

Trust me, always replace the strap kit. The straps stretch just a bit during install so, reusing them isn’t a good idea. Spicer is OE on the Fords and Dodges and I can say while the hex is 5/16 I’ve never had a bolt round off. I’ve replaced quite a few joints and straps and they are always a perfect fit.
