Pump works well on pond
This pump broke the anaerobic thermocline in our half acre 12 foot deep pond in about a month. With the outlet at about 8 feet, the air stream brings cold water from the bottom to the top and oxygenates the water. This pump will not pump air to 12 feet. It pumps a small amount at 10, and does much better at 8 feet. The noise of the pump is reduced by a small pumphouse disguised to look like a Nisse-barn (Uff da if you don't know what that means.). The small pumphouse has sound absorbing foam on the inside that reduces the sound to about 5% of what it is in the open, that is, probably about 50 DB. There is about 200 feet of 1/2 inch black polyethylene tubing to carry the air to the bottom of the pond. The amount of air coming to the surface is impressive and it creates a cold water area for about 20 feet around the outlet. I expect to have to replace once a year, based on usage with our H2S water treatment system.

Fast Delivery, Ordered and was on my doorstep in 2 days - Im a Fan of Active Aqua Products. What I’ve noticed and experienced is although other competitors products work, They don’t either work as well, or as long as Active Aqua - This Air Compressor runs Considerably Quieter than competitors- My first was Another brand and functioned, with 2 repairs (winding on motor came undone, just re soldered) and all I got outta it was 4 months running RDWC - My First Active Aqua brand compressor I’ve had running now 2 grows and currently on 3rd week of veg and Still Going like New I oversized my pump and use half the supplied ports, the spares I use to DO and Mix Nutes in a 30gal barrel, spare 5gal bucket air stones I use when cleaning out the reservoir and plante. NO Worries with this pump

Power at a good price point--
Everyone complains about heat and noise. This is a heavy duty industrial unit. You cannot expect to use this for stealth applications. With those expectations I write the following.... Very sturdy well made unit. The manifold is all metal which is nice with metal valves. With out a tube connected the unit is loud. It is Loud because it is pumping LOTS of air, which is why I bought this unit. Once you put in the tube and manifold it is quieter and as loud as expected, a moderately loud hum. The unit also does get warm, NOT hot, warm. If it is blowing hot air it is because you need to have air moving over the unit otherwise it will sit and pump its own heat. To further remedy warm air there is an intake nozzle that you can attach a tube to and draw air from a colder location. Easy. Is it shaking your whole room? Put it on something sturdy like concrete. All in all this is an awesome powerful pump. The ones complaining are probably growing illegal plants hidden in their parents' basement.

Buy this if heat wont be an issue (drives water temps up).
This thing is a beast in regards to power.... Downside is that it runs so hot its driving the temps in my tanks on my breeding racks 5F + over ambient room temp. I tried putting a cheap fan against it to try and get it to run cooler but its only made a degree or two difference in the tanks.

Great product so far.
I've ran mine for 3.5 months non-stop outdoors. I have it running to ten 5 gallon buckets with homemade soaker hose air rings. Puts out a lot of air. It's gotten to 95F and very humid outside but the unit has not had any issues. I made a plastic cover for it to keep it mostly dry and it hasn't melted at all so it can't be getting that hot. I was able to put my hand on it with no heat issues. However, I get a slight shock when I touch the casing. Not entirely sure why. Manifold is good quality. This thing is far from silent. It's pretty loud actually. The description uses the word silent somewhere so minus 1 star for misleading advertising. I run it outside because when I ran it inside I could hear it from every room in my house. And walls are made of concrete where I live...

Not too loud... Works great for my 35 gallon comost tea brewer!
As long as you put it on a solid surface the unit is not too loud (my jacuzzi makes more noise). Glad I got the larger 110L per minute pump for my 35 gallon compost tea brewer. You cannot have too much air for this type of application, also, it gives me room to grow if I want to build a 55 gallon unit. A few notes... I plan to buy a small air filter/npt fittings to mount on the intake and prevent dust from getting in the pump. Also, I've fitted a cheap plastic one way valve to prevent water from going back into the unit. Have run about 10 batches of compost tea (48 hour brew) no issues so far.

It pumps air like a hairdryer
To be fair i read reviews and got bored , so i bought this air pump without proper investigation. It i a nice small pump. It only pumps about half the air advertized. I can use 8 small air stones at a high rate or 12 at a decent rate. Problems with this unit that are instantly noticeable are: HEAT HEAT HEAT and NOISE NOISE NOISE. I made that obnoxious on purpose because that's what this pump is. Specs state high pressure and high volume. I'll give them the volume as it was almost what i expected (half rated), but the pressure is 3.2psi, yes three psi is all i get. Also states 60 something decibels but really makes about 72-74 at 20ft which is LOUD. Compare this to a small pancake style air compressor. I hear it clearly over my 3 window air conditioners, through the whole house. The most important thing i can say about this is that it gets HOT. There are heat sinks all over this thing but if you touch it it will hurt. It doesn't get so hot that it burns you instantly or anything, but i measured it at 132 with a very well regulated 70 ambient temp. I have this running 8 air stones and have to guess about 40Lpm 36% of its rated and 72% of what is useable. Also should be noted that the air coming out of this unit is 120 or so and actually turns clear poly tube brown (burnt color in 30 days) near the valves. The valve bar gets so hot it cant be adjusted. Basically if you want an outdoor pump that you run a long hose to whatever you are using the air for this might be ok(if you don't have neighbors). Otherwise you have a weak useless hot air machine. I WOULDN'T recommend this to ANYBODY!!!

One of the best product and very very fast service. Really thanks to AMAZON. Little bit big, noisy and expensive too but I'm very satisfy for purchased this air pump. More than enough air bubbles for my 250gallon tank. But i dunno how long i can use without any trouble. Countdown started from now. 😀😁😄😃😉

The pump came 3 days earlier.Thank you for that! That is impressive. Took me 5 minutes to install the pump on my 1/4 acre pond. The setup I have is: Pump, 50 ft of hose going to a 8 ft deep pond, and a 8 inch air stone. So far it works great, at just a little of 1.5 PSI of pressure. it is running for about an hour with no issues . Time will tell about the longevity of this pump, as it will be running 12-14 hrs a day. Thanks again!! P.S. I also bought a 45 l/hr air pump, same model as a back up, just in case. we have rainbow trout in our pond and they need 7% dissolved oxygen in order to be happy!!

This is my 2nd Hydrofarm Active Aqua Commercial 112 watts 110-LPM air pump I have personal used and purchased from Amazon the first one I purchased on July 22/2019, Great turn round from Amazon and all was in perfect order. This first unit is still running continuously. Air pump manifold runs a little hot with 12 air lines running at the same time. Note you can run just one air line only or any combo of 12 Single independent valves The manifold supplied for this model has 12 separate air line with each having a separate shut off so you can adjust air slightly by closing valve at the manifold, I placed a hard piece of styrofoam underneath the solidly made brass manifold I believe and I have no vibrations, The rubber mounts on main pump are insulating vibration and mounts are solid and well built and pushes air through 12 adjustable .250 or 1,4 inch tubing, Fantastic for homemade tea brews in 5 gal or 45 gals at one time. Love this product, I recommend this product rated 100% air pump does exactly as needed. I needed a second air pump for a further away location, now I have 2 - 110 LPM air pumps that are running 24-7. Thanks Big Al

I've only had it on a few weeks and so far seems good. It was much larger than I expected and is pretty loud but given the air it's pumping out I didn't expect it to whisper. Be VERY Carefull with the small house they provide to connect the manifold to the pump as it seems snug at first but will pop off after the first day, this almost cost me the entire garden. A hose clamp or zip tie solve the issue.

pump is very loud. Sent the Hydrofarm an e-mail requesting information for outdoor use. They did not respond to me. I had it on for a few hours outdoors and it was hot to the touch. Don't know if that is normal or not. Overall, don't like how hot it got or how loud it is.
