Draw 50 Animals: The Step-by-Step Way to Draw Elephants, Tigers, Dogs, Fish, Birds, and Many More... Review: This is a very simple drawing book - I purchased this as a Christmas gift, so I am not sure how this will be received. I browsed the book after receiving it. If my niece doesn't want it, I do. It's a very visual book. There are no written instructions: it is just step by step drawing - from the first piece, building to the final result. I remember doing something similar when the Dallas Times Herald ran a comic strip called Arty. I loved that and still have the ones I cut out. This book is somewhat similar except that each drawing is on a page. Once you see it, it seems so simplistic that drawing an animal is possible. I love it and hope my recipient does as well. Review: Great for beginners - My daughter showed an interest in learning how to draw and this made it easy for her. It shows all of the steps.

I looked through a LOT of books on how to draw animals to find the perfect one, and this one is it!
I got this for my niece (6 years old) and she loved it!! I also used it once while visiting and having a drawing contest - I felt like I turned into a master artist. I never would have been able to draw a bird of any sort before. This book does a beautiful job of showing you how to draw, with proportions correct. The cover is a great example. I also like how it keeps the drawings fairly minimal (again, reference the cover art for example of this), so you can add your own touches. I looked through a LOT of books on how to draw animals to find the perfect one, and this one is it! I had also ordered one other book similar to this one, in case this one didn't arrive in time. I didn't like the other book as much because it was several more steps, not broken down as much, and the end result had too much detail - not enough room for creativity and my short attention span was not a fan of it. But THIS book was perfect! I bet any kid would be able to use it and love it.

Thorough Book
Great step by steps and well worded art book! Mine came with a chunk missing out of the back cover for some reason; doesn't hurt the pages, but perhaps an issue in shipping.

Moving on from stick figures.
This book was the perfect motivator for my kid to move from his stick figures. The steps are easy to follow and the results are satisfactory. I also got him the dinosaur one and I'm looking forward to collecting more of these. Very fun to draw and learn even for adults.

Holds attention for the right kid
It held the attention of a budding 10-year-old artist. She’s very talented. This book is a good visual tool for shape, shadow and proportion

Nice and easy to step into drawing for beginners - could use little more "depth" maybe.
We are just starting to use it - myself and my 7 year old granddaughter. It is pretty easy to follow but I would give it a little higher review if it got into some shading at some point so you could give the animals more 'depth'. There is just a little bit of a gap between the finished picture and the previous instruction pictures that makes it just a bit disconcerting in trying to follow for us two inexperienced artists but we have muddled through a couple of pictures / drawings and they turned out pretty good. I suspect as we do more they will get better and that may not be such an issue. We also ordered the Draw Flowers one, but it is a much harder book to follow - so this has been a better choice for the two of us.

Great simple to follow sketches. Bought for a 9 year old who actually spent time drawing on Christmas day instead of staying glued to technology. Really well laid out book and not too many steps to achieve the desired animal. Highly recommend.

Enjoying time with this book with my 6 year old boy who is getting a lot of seeing an animal quickly appear from just a few shapes. Seeing his happiness warrants 5*

Bought for my 7 year old granddaughter who loves art. She can look at the pictures without reading the book and copy the drawings. She loved it.
