What is the diameter of the bottom (thickest) section?

The diameter of the bottom (thickest section) is 1.5"

What is the diameter of the bottom section?

The diameter of the tube itself at the bottom of the lowest section is 1-1/4 inches and tapers to 1-1/8 inches at the top of the lowest section section. Overall, the bottom end is a scooch wider than 1-1/4 inches when the end cap is included.

Considering using one of these as a flagpole for a camper. Anyone have any results on that sort of use?

Certainly the last 2 rod sections are too flimsy to support much of a flag, but if you only use the larger sections you might get a flagpole about 10-12 feet.

great performance, great deal

You cant go wrong for the price of this rod. The action and length of this rod remind me of my fly rod. It was hookin up w/the crappie very nicely!! Tight lines!

Extremely good crappie pole

Have eight of these poles with assorted reels. Had no problem bring fish into the boat with this rod. Great action especially with crappie that lift or have a really light bit. Well worth the money.

I like the action but…..!

Used the rod about 6 times and the tip broke. Not sure the problem but the tips are weak.
