Easy to Use and Setup even for a Beginner
Although I am new to Pocket Hole building the Kreg jig works great. The setup was easy and strait forward. In just a few minutes I was up and running making a table saw workbench. The joints are super strong and they almost square themselves . I put together the base and after cleaning up I thought oh no I didn't check for square. When I checked, all edges were right on.I chose the K5 instead of the K4 for the locking handle. Once dialed in this thing holds the wood securely and it does not slip during drilling. It is super fast to go to the next piece. The only issue I have with the jig is that the number scales are hard to read. I found a hack on Pintrest (I don't know if Amazon allows for external links in reviews) just search for "Kreg jig with white paint" and you will find it. It makes the number scale POP.One thing I did find is with using construction 2 x 4s the screws will push through while screwing because of the soft wood.. Just take care while screwing and you wont have a problem.Overall I love this Kreg Jig K5 Master System with Pocket Hole Screw Kit (5-Sizes) It comes with everything you need to start your journey of Pocket Hole building. The jig creates Strong joints and it is so easy to setup.

A Must For Accurate Pocket Holes
We wanted to replace the upstairs and downstairs railings in our home, but did not want to pay the $8,000 quote we received to have someone do the work. I decided to do the work myself and decided to use pocket holes and screws to attach the railings to the newel posts. This tool made the process quick and easy. The pocket hole joints are very strong and after applying a little stain to the holes they were practically invisible. The railing turned out beautifully. I initially thought the cost of the tool was a little high, but after using it repeatedly on this project I can definitely say that it was worth every penny. If you have a project that requires pocket holes this tool is a must.

Suspicious at first, and now a firm believer!
This was a purchase to aid me in the timely completion of a project of bedside tables that I made in a newer (and much smaller) workspace.I'm impressed! Enough so that I've used it for more than one project already and look forward to finding the next project to use it on.Well-made; tight tolerances; nicely molded and formed. Everything fits tight on the whole assembly, and with a few practice runs most people should be able to figure it out pretty quickly, given some basic math skills. The clamp mechanism is fantastic, and really makes fast time of moving from piece-to-piece. I'd consider buying just the clamp, frankly!Do you NEED to use their proprietary screws? Well, no...but SHOULD you use them? Well, yes. They've a nice flat flange and drive very straight, i.e. I believe you're getting a good product for the price you pay, despite its expense. I suppose if anyone is breaking the bank over their fastener expenses, perhaps it's time to reevaluate their lifestyle choices. My sole regret is honestly not buying the next level up and turning this into a more stationary tool in my shop area.Nicely done!

This is a nice set too
I am a pocket hole convert. I put off buying this for a long time, but it's totally worth it. This is a nice set too. The portable attachment has been a big help, screw set will get you started (you can buy just the screws you'll use most often once you figure out which ones you go through), clamp is great (i got a right angle clamp too). I use a small vacuum hooked to the dust collection port, and I recommend it. Much cleaner. This thing makes a ton of small wood chips. I screwed this thing to a piece of plywood and screw it to my work bench when I want to use it. I put it up on the shelf when I 'm not. One of my favorite tools

Plastic! But sturdy
Great engineering on this product. I've used it a few times and works great once you get the 5 minute crash course on how to set it up. My only complaint is the same complaint I have with all Kreg products. You're paying a fairly premium price for a tool that is made out of plastic. Of course it's dense plastic that may stand the test of time but for $160+ for something this small you'd think they could make it out of metal.

Works great, good build quality.
Bought this to construct a 6' deck box to store our patio furniture cushions in. Ended up drilling probably around 150 holes with it in a combination of cedar and pine, all said and done and every single one of them was perfect. The auto-tensioning clamp works perfectly and the unit is solidly constructed. My only gripe would be the somewhat flimsy way the vacuum attachment just snaps into place. With my shopvac hose attached, on a couple of occasions it would cause it to pop out, but for the most part it worked so I am not docking any stars for it. Most of the stock I worked with was only 5" wide, but for the few 3' sections I worked with, I didn't find the extensions to be too terribly useful, but they are a great place to store the drill bit, driver, depth guide, etc. The clamp my kit came with is really nice too..solid and easy to use. I ended up using the 1-1/4" course screws up for my project and had to run to HD and get more. Not sure if I will use most of the other types of screws anytime soon, but will be nice to have them on hand for whatever next project comes up I can use this with.Overall, having this item made my project so much easier to build. Great investment.

Having the Kreg Jig allowed me to build a sturdy frame and legs and easily attach them to the ...
I am a novice when it comes to any type of woodwork. After watching a ton of videos on the Kreg Jig and the differences between the K3, 4 and 5. I decided to go with the K5 Master System. It came with everything to get started and finish a product. I designed and built a large 6 ft x 6 ft "L" shaped computer desk for my daughter. Having the Kreg Jig allowed me to build a sturdy frame and legs and easily attach them to the desk top with no additional bracing or framing that might normally be required without the Kreg. Now that I have this I have a ton of wood projects on my spring to do list that I would have never considered without the Kreg! Excellent product. Easy to set up and use.

First time user and glad I bought this kit!
I have never used a pocket hole jig before today. This kit is pricey but worth the money. It only took about 10 minutes to set everything up for a quick trial run. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. The materials are very high quality and the whole machine just has a good feel to it.I took a couple of scraps of 1x6, put them in the jig where they were securely held and within a few minutes had my holes in place. Selecting the proper screw was a breeze with the included chart/instructions.I can see myself looking for reasons to use pocket holes now just to use this tool. It's great!Highly recommended.
