Q: Does it come with a remote?

No, this does not come with a remote. The different light strings have a USB connector at the ends that goes to a main USB connector hub that can go to the battery pack OR you can simply plug this into a USB plug/outlet. Since I have the whole modular series, I purchased a few USB plug hubs that have 12 outlets in each strip. This building takes up ONE of those ports. You could then put a remote on an off switch on the strip if you wanted to control it from afar. Works well and this light set makes my set pop. I have many fans that come over to look at my modular city displays. Lightailing is my favorite brand of light sets for my Lego projects.

Q: Do I have to drill holes on my lego bookshop to install the lights?

No, they are all lego bricks , so it will not damage your model.

Q: Do these lights keep the two buildings in the lego set separate enough that another set could be placed between them?

No. There is just enough wire. The buildings must be next to each other.

Q: Can you take the floors apart with these installed?

sorry can't help you returned lights the instruction were complicated and you had to take the it apart to add the lights. I thought maybe mini tea lights might work like ceiling lights
