best midi controller by far
i tried four different midi keyboards and this is the one i’m keeping. i tried the arturia, the akai and an m audio. this one felt best. it had great functionality straight out of the box. i did have to use ableton lite but my workflow is create a song in ableton and then import the audio into reaper to record vocals and mix. ableton lite only allows 8 tracks of recording and has some other limitations. this is a limitation of ableton and not the launchkey. the launchkey has been wonderful. the keys feel great. they’re not weighted but they work well. the drum pads feel pretty good. not as great as the akai but i wanted a 37 key so this was really my only option for length. it’s intuitive enough and has a bunch of videos. i watched one that came with a tutorial i could download and mess around with. after about 10 minutes i was up and running in a daw i’d never used before. highly recommend this unit.

Versatile Controller
I did my research when I first bought this controller but it was not my first choice. I previously returned the Arturia Mini since it was lacking a lot of features but I do say it looks good and the quality is also good. Ive considered buying Akai mini 25 keys and M-adio 32 keys but settled to Novation 37 keys. Its a little bit more expensive than those that Ive mentioned but its worth it. Ive tried this controller with Garage band (you need a camera connection kit) with my Ipad and Ableton Live in PC. It runs smoothly with those app/software. I have other free software but I havent tried it yet. Drumpads were really good and are pressure sensitive. It may look like a generic midi controller but it has a lot to offer. I would definitely recommend this product.

Excellent key feel
The main reason I like the Novation MK3 controller line is the feel of the keys, the most important part for me. Yes, this syncs up well with Ableton Live, which I have, but it also works well with Logic Pro on the Mac, which I’ve grown to prefer over Ableton. Depends what you’re doing I suppose. I have the 61 key version of this on my computer desk but wanted a smaller controller to put on my lap for practice in my comfy chair while I watch sports on TV (no sound of course) or watch instructional videos online. This keyboard fits that need perfectly and the key size is the same as on the 61 key, which is great. Has the pads and other control knobs and wheels that people want too.

Really good midi controller
The ableton control is great, the feel of the knobs and pots is great. The keybed is good for synth-action style keys, I wish it was weighted but none really are at this size / price. Overall seems like a great choice if you need 1 all around midi controller. It's very light, but it's pretty big (it's thick) -- not something you'd put in your lap or take to the couch or outside really. But that's not what it's meant for. Love the interface on it, very intuitive with the color coded LED pads giving you hints as well.

Great MIDI controller
Note to parents: This is a MIDI controller.. You need a computer with a DAW program to use this. It's not a toy, it's a tool.

shut up and buy it..
this keyboard has the highest IQ in its class.. If you use Live, great, if not, who cares. keybed is decent enough, and with several fatar based controllers and synths around i AM picky.. but its decent enough. the arp features are outstanding..deviate and mutate bring whole new realms into your music, not seen since the fully programmable Nova desktop synth...this stuff isnt anywhere else at anything like this price...and its scale aware. pad modes..USER chords.. finally something that can help out limp wristed Maschine software.. this is a biggee scales mode also..hey thats more common. 5-pin din out ..wow real midi.. stop looking, stop browsing, its a budget keyboard with features you cant get anywhere else at more than twice the price.

The midi keyboard is definitely a high-quality product. The white keys felt good to play with and even the pads are great and have additional functions. But the black keys don't feel good to play but it isn't bad though. The arpeggiator works fine. The knobs are great. Overall I'm totally satisfied with this product. I'm getting great control over the software with this midi controller. Even the delivery was fast so thank you Amazon!

Best in terms of compatibility. Ableton or Logic Pro, doesn’t matter. Really happy with it
