Lightweight Clear Elastic 1/4'' Wide 10 Yards (a)

I guess I didn't read enough of the reviews to know that it was going to come in a jumbled mess in a bag-and that is how it arrived, a jumbled mess in a bag. However, it works great-exactly what I wanted and needed. Like others, I had purchased another "stretch" elastic from Amazon and it was just too thick. It may be perfect for other crafts but not knit sewing. I has done a great job on the arm holes, necklines, and waists. I would definitely recommend it for those wanting to use it on knit sewing.

I bought this elastic for sewing purposes. I use it for knits like T-shirt shoulder seams and gathered waistbands on dresses. It works very well. I'm able to stretch out the elastic to relax it prior to sewing it into my garment. This stretching is easily done without breaking. This elastic also seems to be very durable once sewing holes are punched into it. My Juki serger allows for feeding and aligning this 1/4 inch elastic through the presser foot, making for an easy application. The product is wadded up in a plastic bag upon arrival but it shows this in the picture, so no surprise.

I sew a lot of knits and like to finish necklines by serging on clear elastic and then turning it under. My old source stopped carrying it (ugh) so I went in search of a new one. The price on this is more than it should be--nearly a dollar a yard--but it is perfectly fine for sewing. I purchased some other clear elastic that was too heavy and had little stretch, which is fine for stabilizing seams but not as functional where you are going around curves and need a little stretch in the final product. This is a lighter weight, which is what I was looking for. One side of the elastic is smooth-ish and the other side is textured. It's fairly cloudy, more translucent than transparent (not an issue for me as it's always hidden in my projects). It has decent stretch, although beware that it gets narrower as it stretches so be sure you know where you want your folded edge to be and don't rely on the width of the elastic if you are stretching as you sew. The elastic arrived loose in a bag as others noted, which I really don't care about. My cut was a little more generous than 10 yards.

This is not a lingerie straps or bra straps if you looking for those. This is great shoulder stabilizer for knit and any stretch fabrics. And that was exactly what I was looking for. It's a good quality with a nice stretch and strong stability. I would defiantly recommend it for sewing knits.

Can get a little tangled, but not bad at all. Very helpful.

I used this elastic for gathering skirts while sewing dresses for my toddler. It worked perfectly for my purposes. This is not a super thick elastic, but that's ok because I could sew over it easily, which is what I needed. Good value for the money. I would definitely purchase again for this purpose!

Only gave this product 3 stars. I haven’t had a chance to use it yet however it has a nice stretch to it. Same stretch as the elastic cord. It comes in a small bag which would make you assume it’s not 10 yards however I measured it with my yard stick and it was a little over 11 years. It was easy to detangle from the bag. Also, seen other reviews that mentioned using this for mask. From my personal preference I wouldn’t and planned to use this for my swimsuits lining. Plus other clothing projects. Happy Sewing 😎

Like others have said, upon receiving the product, it's just a tangled mess in a bag. It doesn't take much to untangle it, but it is a nuisance that could be avoided with better packaging. My other complaint is that the plastic seems a little thinner than what I'm expecting. It still seemed to do the trick, but it does feel like it could snap at any second.
