I’ve used them to get little one tasting different fruits like strawberries & blueberries also helps with teething cold fruit on sore gums.

What age can these be used from?

Some people used to wean at 12 weeks. On my 7 year old the "rules" where 4 months, on 3 year old I qas told to wean at 4 months due to reflux and now qith my 2022 baby the rule is 6 months. I give them fruit puree and baby porridge at 4 months 😋 once dr says that's fine

Are these for solid food or purées?

Either work brilliantly. If you put a purée in there, make sure to freeze it first.

Can these be steam sterilised?

I haven’t put them in the steriliser, I tend to wash them out then put in a cup of boiling water. I can’t see a reason they can’t be, as long as washed out.
