This is NOT the Joy you think it is.
I have been looking all over for the real Joy--the rose scented "costliest perfume in the world" which I have worn for years. This Joy Forever masquerading in Joy's bottle is an imposter. Not even an attempt too duplicate the original, just some "other" thing which I will regift because I cannot return it. My Joy is not made anymore. Jean Patou has been sold, I think so I am looking for something that smells similar and not like rose room spray.

Jean Patou Joy Forever is a beautiful fragrance. I feel like I've got my own personal bouquet of flowers on my wrists. Top notes: bergamot, mandarin, galbanum Mid notes: jasmine, rose, orris, marigold, orange flower and peach Base notes: cedarwood, sandalwood, white musk, amber For me, the base notes are so subtle that go unnoticed. The scent is a true mixed floral. I have a difficult time picking out the individual notes, but they blend together to create a gorgeous bouquet. I am drawn to florals, but I typically like a quieter fragrance. Joy Forever comes on strong and lasts a very long time, but it's quite pretty and I'm growing used to the power. This is a classic, romantic fragrance that I could see myself wearing any time and for many years to come. For some reason that I can't pinpoint, I really find this scent comforting.
