Earthquake E43 1-Person Earth Auger Powerhead, 43cc 2-Cycle Viper Engine, 30:1 Transmission, 5 Year Limited Warranty, Red or Black Auger Bit

This is a good earth auger, well built, starts easy, handles nice for one person; control (plastic throttle lever) seems a little light duty, but has worked fine so far. Putting in a chain link fence; drilling 8" corner holes and 6" inline holes. Works great. Has difficulty with heavy packed clay but would drill it if I kept plunging into it. I am over 70 so easer to just use post hole digger for the last few inches. Would be nice to have a bubble level on the top to get holes more plumb - especially when drilling on a slight slope as slopes are deceptive to get a plumb hole. Will try to glue a bubble level on the top. Putting in a cattle fence next, so I will try digging with a 12" bit. May try drilling with the 8" bit then take it bigger with the 12" as I anticipate difficulty using the 12" bit in this heavy clay as it will probably over load the power head. Tried using the extension but to much resistance in the clay soil.

Works better than expected. Starts up easy. I Have a very difficult yard with big rocks burried in soil. This will obviously not go through them, but definitely reduces overal time to dig holes when used in conjunctionwith other tools. If I had softer/easier dirt this would be amazing. Used it to help me with a trench.

The E43 auger either 8” blade was delivered quickly and was packaged very well. The instructions are written very well and very easy to understand. Set up was very simple and quick. Fired up right away. The earth blade with a hardened tip drilled straight down through VEAVY THICK clay soil with a lot of small rocks. It did exactly what I wanted… bore a 30” deep hole. If I had to use a manual digger it would’ve killed me in this heat. It seems to be well built and that blade is fantastic

This was a new addition to some other Earthquake equipment I have. Works well, especially in regular soil it drills holes fast. NOT too great in real rocky area's; when it hits rock the torque can really impact your wrists. Augur size that comes with it is enough to easily fit 4x4's, though if you plan on adding a lot of concrete to them you may want to widen it a bit, or get an augur 1 size larger to go with it. Engine starts without issues. Dug 10 holes to place 4x4's without any issues. But as I said, if you move to rockier area's it will not have the power to go through large rocks. Good value for the money though.

I bought this auger to replace one just like it that got burned up in a barn fire. It's easy to operate and this thing is a beast! I liked this one over the last one I had because it came with a bigger auger bit. I recommend this for folks who need a small auger for planting shrubs, installing post, or just general digging.

The auger did work well. I only needed 5 post holes 4' deep. I used the 18" extension. Had tree roots and had to relocate a couple holes and still chop roots with spud bar which was expected. The bottom encountered hardclay and really had to bear down on the auger to cut but it had the power. Moving along to the other holes the ground was very wet and it angered very easily but required frequent lift out to clean the bit. I did reach over the machine and get badly burned by the exhaust I don't like that needs better guards. I was installing 6" round fence posts FYI. They fit well and I tamped stone dust in around them for a very sturdy post. To do a lot of holes at once id rent a larger machine but for odds and ends this is a great tool.

Works as described. But if you hang up on something you are in for a ride. Be prepared to let go or have some help. Either way use safely and it’ll do it.

I was able to use this power head auger. Easy to put together after reading the instructions provided. An individual can handle this equipment, however; if the ground is hard, it requires two individuals. A hard ground will cause the auger the equipment to shake & hard to control. Overall, this auger is ausome. It's powerfull and will do the job. Issues - upon receiving the product, the oil bottle that was enclosed leaked. Oil leaked inside the package area and did not affect the operation. The oil bottle seal was broken and all the oil leaked. Recommend, check for leaking oil before accepting package.
