Great for a 12 String
Intermediate player. Mostly acoustic with occasional Strat when in the mood. I have a Martin Six string (love it!), Fender Strat and a 55 year old Epiphone 12 string. The Taylor is on the way!. I mostly play by myself and prefer the sound of the 12 over the 6. The guitars have been professionally set up. This 12 has a narrower neck than you'd usually find on a 12. The action is low without fret buzz. I've tried Shubb and Dunlop Trigger Fly. Both leave leave me with either fret buzz or even a dead string. Maybe it's the narrow neck or it's profile. Regardless, The D'Addario works perfectly regardless of the fret I place it on, and I rarely have to re-tune. This is my go to forever capo now. One nit pick, though it works as designed, I really dislike the thumb screw to tighter the capo. I put up with it because it works so well. I use the the other capos on my 6 strings. For a 12 string though? Buy this. I'll do a follow up when my Taylor, with a wider nut, shows up. Your mileage may vary. Give it a try. Doesn't work for you? Throw it on another guitar or return it. My guess is that you'll keep it. Great capo. 5 stars

Best capo I have used in lots of years playing 6, 9 and 12 string acoustics.
This is my new favorite capo. I have played a lot of years. I regularly use capo's from several other makers I like a lot. All of them have some issue that makes them useful on only some of my guitars. This is the first one I have used that has worked on ALL my 6, 9 and 12 string acoustic guitars while keeping tuning stable, particularly on the 12 string. That is due to the multi-density string pad. It also is completely adjustable for string pressure and has a large range of neck sizes it will work on. Tone is clear and remains stable when properly adjusted to the guitar and fret position. Infinitely adjustable within its range with the thumb screw adjustment. I have paid a lot more for crappy capos I didn't use. This is a great value for the price.

FINALLY. Problem solved.
The LAST thing this capo needs is another five star review. But you don't understand what it's like to find THE solution to a problem after literally decades of searching. And that's what happened to me. I'm too lazy to count, but I must own 15, I wouldn't be surprised if it was 20, capos. Literally a life long search. The task sounds so simple. And the money I spent! As we speak, people are spending twice the cost of this little miracle that will ALMOST do what it does. I don't need to name names. But shame on you, 50$ capos! Well, instead, let me list the requirements. What you want from a capo is this: 1. Ease of use. 2. Applies JUST the correct amount of pressure. Not too much (because that pushes strings out of tune), not too little (buzzing). 3. You want it to be as narrow as possible, and as flat as possible, so it doesn't mess with your fretting hand. And 4. you need it to be sensitive to the different string gauges. We tend to underestimate what our fingers actually do when we play a bar chord. It's quite impressive. The flesh on our index finger adapts to six very different thicknesses of wire. And this capo, miraculously, emulates this sensitivity. The simple thumb screw makes it possible to fine tune the pressure. In conclusion: This is simply the perfect capo. Affordability is a big part of the praise I'm heaping on this product. Now let me, just real quick, speak as a musician. I have a small crappy guitar. It's cheap, nothing special. I used the D'Addario capo on this beater. Suddenly I can play IN TUNE, on the seventh fret. And this little nothing guitar sings. Perfectly in tune, with sustain and clarity. It's like a new instrument. That's the kind of impact a well designed tool can have. Very cool. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

Actually does what it says.
I wanted so much for all the hype about this capo to be true. 30 bucks is a little much to spend on something that might not work. To my relief and surprise this little aluminum capo works very well on any fret without buzz or need for retuning. I play a slope shoulder acoustic with an Adirondack top that sounds amazing with this capo. I donโt have much experience with other capos, except my Kyser spring clamp style that pulls the low E string sharp.its going in a drawer,or to goodwill. Daddario makes good stuff. The XS strings and this pro plus capo are both worth the money. A word of caution, this capo is small and light and would be easy to lose so keep it in a special place.not your shirt pocket. Despite its lightness and small size it seems well made and should last a long time.

Best capo I've ever used.
These are great. Been playing for 35 years, and these are the nicest capos I've ever used. The pad is soft and malleable (like a finger) and doesn't over tighten on the string so it doesn't get pitchy when you have it on. Liked it so much I bought it in both the black and silver. No need to try anything else.

It's not one handed and very light.
Been using this capo for a couple months now and it's ok but not great. It works better on 6 string acoustic than it does on my 12 string Taylor 855 and is by no means a "one handed" capo. It needs to be lined up and adjusted pretty much like a Shub. It is well made but lacks weight and density. I think this makes an overall tonal difference compared to my original Shub which is now over 40 yrs old and working just fine. I like the idea that for $30 I get a lifetime warranty but it's longevity remains to be seen. It seems to to a better job on a fatter neck than a skinny one.

Great!
Perfect for arthritic fingers and plays on any fret clearly with no muted strings.

The knob came off first time using it
first time using the capo i went to unscrew it to take it off and the knob came off. i put some super glue on it so it wouldnt come off again. Other than that it's a great capo. probably just bad quality check or something.

Is this the perfect capo?
I normally don't write reviews on Amazon, but this thing blew me away. Over the years, I got sick of annoying capos that always forced me to retune. I bought this one based on a few reviews and youtube tests. Still, I had no expectations. It ended up being so good that i bought a second one 4 days after i got the first.
