My mind rebels at stagnation. Give me problems, give me work, give me the most abstruse cryptogram or the most intricate analysis, and I am in my own proper atmosphere. -Sherlock Holmes, The Sign of the Four . Pit your wits against the greatest detective of them all with this collection of over 130 fiendish and hugely entertaining puzzles and enigmas. Some involve riddles, some plays on words, and some rely on mathematical principles. Use your powers of logical deduction, and see if you can match the towering intellect of Sherlock Holmes. Not only does this collection include brilliant puzzles to ponder over, but it presents these quandaries within exchanges between Holmes and Watson. In this way, this puzzle book retains the same cosy Victorian charm that Holmes' tales are so loved for. fun little brain teaser
This was a fun little brain teaser. Mostly logic and some mathematical puzzles, also some that could not be solved by a normal person (I dare to say) but where interesting. In the ebook version is a link after every puzzle that brings one to the well explained solution, and from there back or on to the next puzzle, which made for easy reading.

Buy It For The Art...
This book is packed with fascinating, brain-teasing puzzles that are enjoyable to solve. Regarding the puzzles themselves, I have no complaints and would rate the content a full 5 stars. The puzzles range in complexity and solution methods; for instance, one is solved with an intricate mathematical equation, while another simply involves identifying 20 words in a circle letter puzzle. However, my main issue lies with the theme. The book is marketed as containing puzzles presented through dialogues between Holmes and Watson. In this regard, it falls significantly short. The dialogues do not resemble conversations between these iconic characters. Additionally, these puzzles are not of the Holmsian type that rely on observation and deduction, but rather resemble typical word problems found in any puzzle book. In summary, purchase this book for the art, which is exquisite and period-appropriate, but do not expect it to deliver classic Sherlock Holmes content. I do own this book, having purchased it second-hand from an offline bookstore.

Join Holmes and Watson in this fun puzzle book!
I’m a big fan of Sherlock Holmes mysteries and have the complete annotated collection in my personal library. I read and re-read Holmes and Watson mysteries often with great pleasure. When I saw this puzzle book, I knew I had to check it out. Filled with over 130 logic puzzles, riddles, and interesting brain teasers told from the point of view of Dr. Watson, this is a treasure for mystery and puzzle lovers alike. Each puzzle has a link to the solution as well as a link to the next puzzle which makes navigating this book a breeze on any device. The puzzles range from super easy to difficult, doesn’t take more than a few minutes each and reading it is a great brain exercise. This puzzle book reminded me of back in my youth when I devoured Encyclopedia Brown books. It’s better, though, because it’s Holmes and Watson. The age range is middle grade to adult, although I’m sure the author has geared it for adults. It’s clean so parents don’t have to worry about the content. If you’re a Sherlock Holmes fan and looking for fun brain-teasers to read through on your commute or while you’re waiting for the kids to get out of school, pick this up right away. It would make a superb gift, too! Disclaimer: I received an ARC from Arcturus Digital via Netgalley in the hopes I’d review it. My Rating: 5+ stars

Challenging fun
I’m enjoying this little book. There are over 130 puzzles, each based on a Sherlock Holmes story. Some are mathematical, some logic, some word play All are challenging and require lateral thinking that makes the old grey cells work! It’s lavishly illustrated with black and white line drawings of the era. A great book to dip into at will and all the answers are at the back. If you like Holmes and or puzzles, you should enjoy this title.

Altmodisch
Wie zu erwarten sind die Rätsel im Stil von Sherlock Holmes geschrieben. Uns war das ein bisschen zu altmodisch und oft vor allem zu langatmig. Ein paar der Rätsel sind allerdings gut.
