Very satisfied with the quality of this bookcase and a really good value. Assembly takes about 2 hours. Phillips screwdriver needed for assembly included and no missing parts. Very sturdy and stylish. No blemishes on unboxing seen on wood or metal frame. Lots of storage space for books, etc.. Very stable and includes tip over security fastner if needed.

This is NOT Wal-Mart flat pack furniture quality. It is sturdy, weighty, and looks beautiful. We have cat shelves to hang for our vaulted living room and this will be the ground level for the cats to reach them while still giving us some display/storage space. Setup was tedious, but not difficult. Screwdriver included so you literally do not need anything else. (Unless you plan to use the included wall anchors.) Using a screw bit on an electric drill would probably work, but I had lent mine out.

Instructions for assembly were adequate. Comes with screwdriver but may need a pair of pliers to aid in setting screws for middle section. Nice heavy metal parts with composite wood shelves. I like the adjustable feet. I think the metal panels should have tighter quality control. Some of the weld points are not level and at the price point you expect tighter control. One of the cross bar I received had screw holes too far inset in the ends that made it difficult to complete assembly. Everything in the box was labeled and made it easy to complete assembly but the labels are difficult to remove once everything is put together. This is sturdy once assembled and perfect for my needs. I am happy with my purchase and would by again if I needed another bookcase.

Just put it together today.... First off the unit is heavy, I believe the box said 61pounds, and once together it had a very sturdy feel to it. All items came wrapped and protected within the box and no items were damaged during shipping. The unit looks good and matches pictures posted by the seller, and in person the unit has a look that I believe exceeds the price. A few things to know for putting the unit together 1: there are 12 wood shelves and each one is attached with 4 screws 2: there are 24 cross members and each take 2 screws (a combination of screws and prefab connectors) this did lead to taking a little extra time to assemble BUT everything did line up and cut down on frustration with nothing being misaligned. All and all 5 stars for looks, sturdy, and overall a good value.

With two people and two screwdrivers, we managed to combine the whole shelf (and it's 80 screws) in about an hour. Keeping things semi loose until you have a whole section done is key, as is paying attention to which way the whole are facing on the horizontal braces for the shelves themselves. All support structures were made out of good solid steel, and the shelves themselves, while a bit less quality, are quite nice. Had two very minor chips on shelves (just put towards the wall) on arrival, but otherwise packed well. If you take your time and pay close attention to the visual instructions (think like Ikea) it's easy to do without issue. The end result is a beautiful shelf! I picked up little felt feet to go on the base, so it's easy to scoot around on our hardwood floors when I want to clean up underneath it. The deep shelves means I have places for little plants and things in front of the books.

So glad I purchased this shelf unit--fit my needs perfectly. Box was heavy but I managed to get it in the house myself. I am a 59 year old female and was able to put it together on my own. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. No missing parts and everything fit together as it was designed to. Looks great. Good value for the price--got it on sale.
