Solid budget EDC knife that hits above it's price point.
I'm one of those guys who has to have a convenient style pocket knife on my person all the time. I have some expensive knives, but most of my knives tend to be budget priced - especially my EDC type knives. I have a Case Trapper that I love, but it's a hand me down with some sentimental value, and I'm afraid to lose it, so I started looking for another Trapper to replace it. I didn't want to pay $60+ for another Case, and this Rite Edge showed up in my search. It looked nice enough and I didn't see any terrible reviews, so I decided to give it a shot. When this arrived it was in a nice box and wrapped in tissue inside it. It was shiny and looked presentable. It has a good weight to it (not too light, not too heavy, but solid in your hand). The scales on it are shiny and polished but not slippery. They might be a bit slippery if oily or used around a slick liquid, but they worked fine for me, even when I got some WD40 on them. The blades open pretty easily (I added a couple drops of oil to them, but it didn't really need it) and they were sharp on delivery. Some folks hate made in China knives. I prefer to buy domestic-made knives, but I couldn't find any in this budget area I was looking for. This knife is made in China, and the fit and finish in my opinion is great for the price point. The scales fit pretty well, and the logo on the side is tasteful and not gaudy or excessive. So for me, this knife is a deal at the price point. Just over $6 for a daily carry/tool box/truck knife that looks like it's worth more, it's sharp and holds an edge, and if you lose it you won't get hammered in the wallet. It's no Case, but it hits way above it's price point so I don't see that as a con.

I use these as gift items to construction crews i work with. A solid knife, sharp, looks good and has alot of utility. Also won't break your heart, or the bank, if something happens to it.

Spey is wrapped.
This trapper came very sharp, arm hair shaving sharp, which is nice. It also has beautiful scales. However, the overall finish is a bit "meh" or so-so in quality. It has open gaps here and there, but nothing major. Like all Rite Edge 3.75-inch (9.53-centimeter) trappers, the spey blade is usually wrapped, and mine is no exception. The wrapping on mine is not as bad as other trapper knives I have gotten from Rite Edge, so thank goodness for that!

Love it, lose it, whatever!
This is a great EDC and if I use it or misuse it, it cost me less than $15.
