Good pack, and ships to EU as well
The products in this pack usually don't ship to EU with its retailer so it's nice to have these here. It allows us to have these items in EU. For the thermal paste, I didn't really believe at first that I would win 10°C worth of heat out of my laptops. However, it turns out that in the end I won 6-7°C most of the time, so the laptop is cooler. I also fully cleaned all the fans & the metal grids of my laptop's copper heat sink. For the thermal paste remover, it was surprising. I didn't know that it could turn 2+ years-thick thermal paste into a soft & fluid removable compound. I'm not sure what the second bottle actually does, but I applied it anyway. The first one was very (very) useful for removing thermal paste that was accidentally all over the little CPU resistors when I lifted a laptop heat sink and quickly replaced it back on the CPU. Without thermal paste removers, one or two of these little (less than 1 millimeter) resistors would probably have been torn appart along with the thermal paste. So, it's a good pack. Worth it especially for EU. For US, perhaps might be available elsewhere in separate bigger bottles.

Arctic Silver is Chuck Norris levels of thermal paste
When it comes to thermal paste, nothing in my opinion beats Arctic Silver 5. The kit that came with it was just icing on top of a very yummy cake. I usually just use the stock thermal paste that comes with a new CPU but was concerned that even idling it would be about 40 to 50c. Arctic Silver 5 knocked that down to idle 35.3c. A definite improvement and the cleaner+purifier is a must. The knife helps to in order to spread the thermal paste evenly across the CPU which is a mistake most PC builders like myself do regularly. You don't want to just goop a whole mess on the CPU, otherwise that'll cause heat issues. You want to spread it evenly in order to dissipate heat from the CPU. I recommend putting 4 dots about the size of a BB and then one large about the size of a small marble, spread the paste evenly across the surface and then apply your heatsink.

I've been using Arctic Silver 5 for decades and won't use anything else.
This kit is exactly what I needed. The two bottles really help to remove the old thermal paste. The first bottle smells like oranges and remove the majority of the paste with only three or four drops and a paper towel. The second bottle removes any left over film/paste and makes the surface pure and new again. As for the Arctic Silver 5 paste, I've been using that for decades and have always been very happy with it's effectiveness. You do not need to put a large amount like you see on many youtube videos; just use a very small pea size amount in the center of the processor; that is truly all you need. No need to spread it either, when you apply the cooler it will be spread by the pressure, nice and evenly over the full surface. That is the winning technique for sure. No mess, and perfect application.

Basic computer needs
It's the basics of owning a computer, just like you change your oil and need a new filter, you need to clean and reapply thermal paste off the cpu. Don't use too much though.

Does quite a good job just a little messy to say it frankly or as short as possible :)
I really like this product. But there's a little hesitation on my part from giving it the Excellent rating that I could potentially possibly give to a product in the thermal compound/cleaner combo. First, when I tried to push the ""injection"" ""needle"" into the cpu, it wouldn't come out, then long story short it all came out completely all at once, and that's only for the applicator. I didn't had to use the cleaner bottles (both bottles are cleaner bottles long story short), so I can't comment on them. However, despite all of this, it worked perfectly and I had no problem with them at all, so I would recommend it but only with the previous caveat. It may be a downer but it was there. I have to say that. And this product works as promised. In addition, it took some time for the product to arrive. To put it another way, it took AT LEAST 3 times as long for it to arrive than the CPU i7 that I ordered, that it came to the point that I wondered about the timing of it coming. Sincerely.. the reviewer.

Keeping it cool
Great bit of kit for computer builds and rebuilds. Highly recommended.

Great little kit. Does exactly what you would hope.
After making a real mess with my first attempt to build a PC from scratch, this kit helped me to clean up and start again. By mess I mean that I used too much thermal compound first time around, which spilled over the sides of the CPU and onto the motherboard. I then made it worse by trying to mop up with some tissue. This kit made short work of most of it, and I used a cotton bud (aka cue tip?) to clean up around the edges. There is very little evidence of my disaster remaining in case anyone opens up and looks in my PC!

I bought this specifically for doing a CPU upgrade on my NAS. No complaints, it worked as expected. Arctic Silver is probably the best thermal compound for any CPU. Would not hesitate to purchase again if / when needed.

This two bottle cleaner worked well for me, with the first an orange oil based cleaner that really mixes with old thermal compounds to remove it. This is followed by a residue cleaner that removes final traces of the first cleaner, making both surfaces look like new. As per the instructions, just use a drop or two each time and use a lint free cloth or paper towel or cotton bud to slowly remove the old paste, better to take off a bit at a time than risk dripping over the edge for the cpu.

when removing thermal paste from the GPU core sometimes there will be clumps and it's not good for those otherwise great especially on dried paste although i wish there was a way to remove the stains from the cloth and when added to water it loses colour
