Perfect for a Parabody rack
This the perfect width to retrofit onto an old Parabody power rack. I replaced the bar with it (drilling a few holes) and am extremely pleased with the result. The welding is not perfect and the paint is a little thin and slightly chipped, but that's to be expected at this price point. It's extremely sturdy and effective and overall I am delighted with it.

Solid sturdy chin up bar
This Chinup bar was easy to assemble. I did have one screw that was sticking making sure that it was not cross threaded I sprayed some WD-40 on the threads of the screw and the hole and it started easily after that. to mount- I had some old wood i used to mount the hooks on to protect my drywall. I mounted the hooks into my wall studs (behind the drywall) using 3/8” x 4” long lag screws. Of course I pre-drilled all holes so you will need a drill. I used a ratchet and 9/16”/14mm socket to tighten my lag screws into the wall studs. I was careful to tighten the screws nice and snug but not overly tight- I have snapped the heads of lag screws off when overtightening. This chin up bar relies on your body weight to be stable and solid so for that reason you do not want to do “kipping” type chin ups on this type of chin up bar that is just hanging by the hooks - you could cause damage to your wall, the chin up bar and potential for the bar to come off the hooks- can’t believe I had to say that.

It's a good product
If you are hanging this on drywall, you will need boards attached to the studs. We didn't use the hardware provided. It's very sturdy. My daughter and I both hit our head on the little loops on the bar for hanging a heavy bag. I'm going to find some way to cover it with something.

Worth the price
Easy to put together as long as you follow the directions. I wouldn't recommend hanging this without boards. I used a 1"x4" and 3"X3/8" hex screws. I threw away the bolts they came with because they're made for drywall, and this would tear right out of just drywall. Get 8 hex screws for the hooks and then however many you want to use for the wood. My only complaint is I'm confident the foam material for the grips will end up deteriorating over time. I weigh 200 lbs and it holds me up like I'm nothing.

Indoor drywall/stud installation
Nice finish. Went together easy. There were a couple of nearly misaligned fastening holes but I got it to work. I used six 38” 2X8 planks and fastened them to the wall studs with five 5/16” lag screws each. Then attached the mounting hooks with 3/8” lag screws in the 2X8’s. This will be used by my 160lb son but I tested it with my 260lb self and everything held up perfectly.

Good product if you know what you're doing.
This is a good product. It requires assembly. Do not assume you can mount this into drywall. I installed a layer of 3/4" plywood with ample screws into the studs then installed 2x4 blocks with 2.5" SDS screws into the plywood as backing for the actual rack mounts which i also mounted using SDS screws. Their provided wall mounting hardware sets an unrealistic expectation about how to securely mount something that can reliably carry your body weight. Select the correct location in your home to mount this. Ideally install additional backing as shown, be careful screwing into your walls as there are pipes and wires in the walls, dont even attempt this unless you have the necessary tools and materials. Also don't take my word for it. What do i know?

Well worth the install & SUV still fits in garage next to it.
Took me about 8 hours to install. Cut up a free pallet for all the wood, including the 1/2 inch plywood, yeehah! Both long wall mounted 2x4's have counterbored holes and use 3 inch #10 wood screws attach to wall studs. If I did not counterbore, then the screw heads would not allow the plywood to be flush with the 2x4's. The screws in the long 2x4's are not symmetrical because I had to work around existing nails and holes in the wall studs. The shorter center 2x4's are also attached to wall studs. On the plywood, I used ten 2 inch #10 wood screws and fender washers to spread the attachment force across the plywood surface. It is attached securely and works great in both positions for this 165 pound guy. It must be stowed in the pullup position for my SUV to pull into the garage.

Rickety and unstable
Another poorly made product as of late. Yeah I know at this price it was not a high end apparatus; we figured we would save some $$ on a simple piece of equipment to compliment the US made racks/weights in the home gym. Huge mistake. The Item was so unsturdy/would not tighten up enough to eliminate lateral motion that it was unusable. Big ole’ zero on the would I recommend it scale.
