Basic and very functional
For any man who just wants accurate time or to know what day of the month it is, this is a great choice. The face is very easy to read even for us old dudes who don't have great eyesight any longer. Accuracy is spot on after a couple of weeks of ownership. I have a nice phone as a portable computer so I don't care about having a computerized watch. The strap is satisfactory and I've found that it's best to wear the watch with it's face toward the lower side of my wrist as it had a tendency to shift that direction when not tight. This works better for me. This watch is a very good choice for anyone who is practical by nature.

Nice & Easy to Read. Classic Looks & a Good Value
The media could not be loaded. Amazon Essentials Easy to Read Strap Watch ReviewAfter searching for an affordable, readable watch on Amazon, I settled on the Amazon Essentials Easy to Read Strap Watch. At just $16, it was among the cheapest options that looked promising.First ImpressionsThe watch comes in a 42mm case size, which is typically more suitable for men, though it's not exclusively marketed as such. Upon unboxing, I found the watch already running (indicating its quartz movement) with a protective film over the face that easily peeled off.The watch face is impressively legible with large numerals - perfect for someone like me who struggles with smaller displays. However, I immediately noticed there's no anti-reflective coating on the crystal, though that's expected at this price point.Specifications & FeaturesJapanese quartz movement (noted on the caseback)Leather strapClaims 100m water resistance (though I wouldn't test this limit)Date function (slightly small for older eyes)Luminous hands (but not markers)Plain polished bezelOn the WristThe watch fits my nearly 8-inch wrist on the second-to-last hole of the strap, suggesting those with larger wrists might need a longer band. The leather strap is quite stiff initially but should break in with wear. The case is notably lightweight, which raises questions about its construction. While not specified, I suspect it might be brass with plating rather than solid stainless steel. I deliberately chose the silver-tone model over gold-plated options to avoid potential wear issues where plating might rub off.ProsExceptional legibility with large numbersGood luminous hands that charge with regular lightClean, attractive design with polished accentsSimple to set and operateExtremely affordable at $16ConsStiff leather band needs breaking inDate window is rather smallLightweight construction may indicate less durable materialsStrap has stitching only in one direction, suggesting partial glue constructionBattery Life & DurabilityWithout complications to drain power, I estimate the battery should last 2-3 years. While it claims water resistance, I wouldn't recommend showering with it due to the leather strap, which could deteriorate with frequent wetting. For $16, the Amazon Essentials Easy to Read Strap Watch delivers exceptional value. It's not a fashion statement or luxury timepiece, but it serves its primary purpose beautifully - telling time in a highly readable format. I'd recommend it particularly for older users or anyone who values legibility over fancy features. The 42mm size works well for wrists 6.75 inches or larger, while smaller wrists might prefer the 38mm version.

Good n Cheap
Use CaseI needed a watch for job interviews. Nothing too elegant but a step above my gshock. There is nothing like walking into an interview with attire that doesn't match the image you are trying to present. I didn't believe this was relevant until lately when I saw it in the expression of my interviewer as I walked into to the room. My overall impression is employers want all of you looking professional and that includes the watch you wear.ReviewA professional looking watch doesn't have to be expensive, it just needs to convey the style you are trying to emulate. This chronograph is just that, it has a large face and comes in a variety of classic color sets. The numbers are large and clearly show the time. The watch is water resistant though you won't want to get the band wet as there are several reviews complaining that it wears out quickly. Overall the watch is a good wear for short intervals where classic looks are expected but the user doesn't want to bring an expensive watch or they do not regularly wear a watch.SummaryFor a classic looking time piece that can be worn to special occasions or job interviews this is a inexpensive option that is fit for purpose and with limited use could be a good investment. Sometimes style is more about fitting in than how expensive the item was.

Battery not replaceable
Watch is fine, but the listing does not say anywhere what is hidden in a tiny paper that comes with the watch: the battery is non replaceable. This means that when it stops working it will have to be thrown away. And this is a shame. Environmentally and because even at this price point a new watch is more expensive than replacing the battery yourself.

Great watch for the money
I love my $16 watch. It's great for motorcycle riding. The big analog dial is perfect. It came set and running. I haven't had to touch it. The band was a bit tight but now it has stretched. Can't go wrong for the price

Difficult to set
Getting the time set is challenging. The hour and minute hands are very twitchy. The second hand doesn't land on the time points as one might expect. The day thing is questionable as it shows days but not months so it can't account for any month that doesn't end in 31. I think I may have figured out how to get it to mostly keep time by noting that the minute hand needs to be slightly behind the 12 position because the second hand skips it by about 4 seconds. Then when you push the crown all the way in there is a bit of a jump. Basically play with a bit to see what quirks it has but after you figure out that so far it has been keeping time better than I thought. Other than that it is comfortable to wear and is easy to ready.

Stand the Test of Time
I have bought several inexpensive watches to work in over time and this is the only watch that has not gotten moisture under the crystal within a few months. In addition the crystal has not scratched once. Big numbers easy to read. Great senior citizens watch as well.

Really nice watch-I'm happy
This watch is very simplistic, but it is really nice, especially as an everyday watch. I'm really pleased with it. I did change the band, but that was just my preference
