I very much enjoyed this book, but I was blown away by how many wonderful ideas are shared! I definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves to cross stitch but has been wanting to try something new or is just feeling stuck for their next project!

I found the book to be helpful for someone who is a novice to embroidery, as I am. There were an assortment of projects and not only the kind in hoops (like stuffed toys.) One reviewer mentioned they did not find the pattern on the cover; however, the cover is a zoomed in photo of the Stitch-a-Day Journal Sampler, which is definitely in the book. The author mentioned it was part of a challenge in which they participated over a year. The author explains clearly how to finish and display the finished embroidery items. I thought the book had nice suggestions and helped me see the numerous possibilities with embroidery.

This book was very informative. It showcased step by step. The ideas were breathtaking beautiful. It was a great read!

I was expecting a book filled with pictures similar to the cover. Maybe even some directions with different stitches to fill difficult spaces. It’s a book about embroidery, but not so much the doodle embroidery I had hoped for. The cover was misleading as far as what I was hoping for.

I bought two of these. I love the different stitches.

This was a gift for my granddaughter, it was so beautiful I got another one for me!!

Informative, well organized. The only problem is that I have current projects to finish before I can start trying those in this book.

Good ideas, but kindle version, pics of stitches not on same page. Also, examples limited. Still liked tough snd if an Aimée fan, would recommend.

I have a lot of embroidery books. This one is different than any other and great for ideas and imagination. I ordered another as a gift.

I bought this, intrigued by the "move beyond the pattern" part of this title. However, the book is almost nothing *but* patterns. The instructions given are for basic stitches, but are written in such a way that I think a true beginner would have difficulty following them; and for an intermediate embroiderer, there was absolutely nothing new here. The rest of the book is a list of things you'll need - but the "move beyond the pattern" presumes we have moved beyond needing someone to tell us what we need. Presumably, we already *have* everything we need. Very disappointed. Would have returned it if it wasn't such a hassle. As it is, I will donate to my local library instead. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Attractive as a guide to a new concept in stitchery for a wife to relax with. Lots of pictures of the authors achievements but no hints at a plan to get a beginner started and enthused with a quick early result. Sadly item returned via Amazons excellent return system, which cannot be faulted.
