I understand the 1/4 screw is on the ball head. whats the screw size on the tripod after removing the ball head. and is there a adapter to convert?

I believe the bottom of the ball head has a 3/8 female thread. And the top of the tripod is of course a 3/8 male. I don’t have it near me at the moment, but it’s definitely thicker than the standard 1/4 screw.

Is this good for vlogging with something like the Canon R5 and a heaver vlogging lens?

I think this is a high quality piece of gear. I use this far more often than my full height tripod, and I get far less blurry photos with this solid SmallRig. Price is very good too. I've done long 20-30sec. exposures on this tripod with a 6dii and a 100-400mm Lii, and sits rock solid on rocks or logs. Also works as a handheld walk-around. Usually, I put a 24mm-40mm-50mm on the 6dii or 77d for stars. You can add a flash too. The universal ball joint is what makes this a versatile wonder. I have had this on the edge of cliffs, waterfalls, gorges, streets, and building ledges. Legs also have very nice rubber feet that grab all surfaces. A solid tripod that easily fits in your to-go bag. Get one. Funny part, I don't think I have had it on a tabletop or desk like the ad says.
