Some reviews say this is thinner and some say it is thicker. I have used amazing clear cast and liquid diamonds. how does this compare in viscosity?

The thickness can often be attributed to the temperature of the resin. This resin does best when it is kept at 70°. I've been consistently using this brand now for three years. In the summer when it is warm, the resin will appear "thinner". In the winter, if it gets below 70° it will be "thick and viscous" I recommend putting the bottles in a warm water bath during in the colder months before you mix the resin. It will help "thin" the resin and also helps with air bubbles.

1) Is this product consider food safe? and 2) what is the maximum temperature it can be exposed to?

Food use in cold foods only - i.e glass edges. Not recommended for hot foods. It yellows in sunlight, so it's probably heat sensitive. I would not use it for food items.

After curing, the surface is blotchy. Part of it is glossy and part of it is Matte. What would cause this?

Your solution wasn’t mixed long enough. I recommend stirring longer than the recommended amount of time
