Does this have a skunk strong smell? I noticed many suction cups for aquariums do?

I didn’t notice an odor but my betta did not like it

What would be the decent/not huge leaf size, that when rolled/curled, a betta could fit/go in comfortably inside?

We use the large leaves. I boil some water then place the leaf in the water for about five minutes to soften the leaf. Then roll and place inside the holder and cut any extra off.

What is the best size catappa/almond leaves for this re rolling up for betta to hide inside?; have 5 gallon tank, thanks
