Paperback Cologne Spray for Unisex, 4 Ounce

It really does smell like a book. Its rather pleasant, it is a rather intimate level scent as in it stays close to skin rather than project outward. For those that complain it smells alcoholish, you must remember it isnt a high concentration oil. Id recommend those with that issue to give it a few sprays then let it sit in its box for a few weeks/month. That will give it time to oxidize/mature/settle, especially if it was recently bottled and if it went through thermal shock during transport.

way too much vanilla. It overpowered everything

I personally really enjoy this scent; it could last a little longer, but I just spray a bit more & some on my clothes. It does have a slight old book scent in the background that I like.

the gerard way perfume... it's ok. i can see how it might smell like a comic book. people were saying it smells like tobacco and vanilla, and that's not a bad scent either, so i gave it a shot. it just smells like an off-vanilla scent to me. it's a very sweet scent, so if you wanted to smell more masculine, this isnt the fragrance for you. i smelled the alcohol denat before i smelled the vanilla tbh. it probably isnt what you're expecting, but it's ok for a cheap vanilla perfume.

I really do like the scent, though I'm not entirely sure that it actually smells of new books. My hesitation is because this cologne is VERY VERY WEAK. First, when I apply it, I notice the scent of alcohol most, and then after a few minutes I can smell the actual fragrance. Second, the actual fragrance is so weak that even immediately after applying, I can barely smell it, and so sometimes it does in fact remind me of new books or even a bookstore. However, more often than not, the fragrance is so faint that I smell something but it's like a ghost scent that I barely detect, and can't really identify. This all means that the fragrance is practically non-existent after a few hours, which means that I either re-apply it or just forget about it. The fragrance isn't particularly costly, so I'm glad I bought it just to see what it was like, but now that my curiosity is satisfied, I don't think I'll ever buy this again because the fragrance is too faint and lasts only briefly. Finally, the aerosol mechanism is incredibly shoddy and either doesn't work (after depressing I have to manually pull the pump back up to the start position), or the pump top bounces off and falls to the ground. This might be the main reason that I don't want to ever buy this product again, as not only is the fragrance just too weak, but applying it is incredibly frustrating because as I described, the aerosol mechanism doesn't work properly. If you're curious and have the money to splurge, then it's an interesting scent, but otherwise, I would recommend against buying this fragrance because of all the problems described.

I stumbled on this product because I remember seeing a Gerard Way interview I'm which he said he wears it (silly, I know) and have fallen in love with the scent! It is more oil based(?) so it does get the sprayer a little greasy if you don't wipe it off semi regularly. But the scent—OH MY GOODNESS. Does it smell like a book? No, I wouldn't really say so. But it smells fantastic. A bit smokey and earthy, and not overly sweet. Lasts all day when I wear it, and the bottle has lasted me months, now.

Demeter Paperback really is something special. The scent is so addicting. I bought this for my best friend and s/o years ago, and they still prefer this smell. The 4oz bottle lasts a long while because you only need a few sprays. We'll buy this again as soon as we run out! Love it.

Perfume discreto, gostei muito!

Me encantó el perfume. Realmente lo compré porque es el mismo que usa o usaba Gerard Way.

Doesn't really reach others, doesn't smell that much, but that's exactly what I was looking for. I hate perfumes that smell too much, so this one is perfect. It smells like a mix between an old book, vanilla and fresh bed sheets. I love it!! Thanks Gerard Way for making me discover that stuff :)

Just as I remember. If you recall about ten years back, the Library of Fragrance, this was one of theirs and probably my favourite of them all. It really does recall a bookshop, without being at all musty. Longevity could do with a bit of oomph but it's still lovely.
