Solid Battery for the Price
Amazon Basics AA Rechargeable Batteries (2400 mAh) – Real Capacity Test Results I ran a full analysis cycle on 8 cells using an ISDT N8-series smart charger at a 0.5A charge/discharge rate. Unfortunately 4 of the 12 cells were accidentally thrown out with the broken toy they were in so I couldn’t test those. Here are the actual measured results after initial break-in and a few months of normal use in kids toys and various gadgets: Capacity Results (mAh): - 3001 - 2687 - 3001 - 2658 - 2639 - 2625 - 2649 - 2698 Average Capacity: 2700 mAh Rated Capacity: 2400 mAh Internal Resistance (mΩ): - Range: 124 mΩ – 200 mΩ Key Takeaways: • All 8 cells tested at or above their rated 2400 mAh capacity • Two cells measured around 3000 mAh, which is significantly above spec (likely inflated slightly by the lower 0.5A test rate, but still impressive) • Most cells clustered tightly between 2625–2700 mAh, showing good consistency • Internal resistance varied from 124–200 mΩ, which is decent but not premium-tier low What this means for real-world use: These are solid mid-to-high performance NiMH cells: - Great for moderate to high-drain devices (controllers, cameras, etc.) - Not quite as consistent as premium Japanese made brands, but very close considering the price - One higher-resistance cell (~200 mΩ) may perform slightly worse under heavy load and prematurely wear out. Lower resistance means less voltage sag under heavy load. Pros: - Exceeds rated capacity across the board - Good consistency between most cells - Good value for the price Cons: - Internal resistance spread is noticeable - Not all cells are perfectly matched for High-drain use Final Verdict: 4.5 / 5 (Rated five stars because you can’t give a half star rating, close enough however): For the price, these perform above expectations. If you’re willing to match cells based on performance (capacity + internal resistance), you can get excellent results comparable to more expensive brands. Testing Note: Results were obtained using a 0.5A analysis cycle, which can slightly inflate capacity readings compared to higher-drain real-world use. Not an appreciable difference however in actual usage. Testing Equipment - ISDT N8 Series Smart Charger Please note: Don’t be disappointed if brand new cells don’t meet their rated capacity out of the box. NimH rechargeable batteries have a break-in period when new. This is usually 3-5 full charge/discharge cycles (for premium Japanese-made cells around 2 charge/discharge cycles). A good smart charger can do this for you. It can take several hours or they will break-in themselves over time with normal usage but their performance will increase after break-in.

Reliable and Long-Lasting Rechargeable AA Batteries
The Amazon Basics 8-Pack Rechargeable AA NiMH Batteries have been a fantastic addition to my household. I’ve swapped out most of my regular disposable batteries for these, and I couldn’t be happier. They charge quickly and hold a charge for a surprisingly long time, making them perfect for everything from remote controls to toys and even my camera. The fact that they’re rechargeable is a huge bonus, both for the environment and my wallet. I’ve used them several times already without noticing any drop in performance, and they’ve been holding up well after multiple charging cycles. For anyone looking for affordable, reliable rechargeable batteries, this pack is a great value. They’re high-capacity, work well in a variety of devices, and help reduce waste, making them an easy choice for everyday use.

Good value, good quantity & Quality
Absolutely loved these, High Capacity and Longer Battery Life. Good Value for what I bought them for and with having so many I rarely have to wait to charge, instead I just replace and charge the batteries as I go

Too big for some devices
For the most part these are good batteries. Of course the charge doesn't last as long as an alkaline battery, but that is fine since it can be recharged. The only issue I have is that they are slightly thicker and longer than a standard AA battery. They fit most things, but I have had to use regular alkaline batteries in about 25% of the devices I tried since these rechargeable batteries just would not fit at all.

Reliable High Capacity Rechargeable AA Batteries Great Value
The Amazon Basics rechargeable AA NiMH batteries have been very reliable over the years. They function well in a wide range of devices and hold a solid charge. Charging speed is reasonable, and they do not get excessively warm while charging when used with a proper charger, I use a Panasonic charger. Battery life is good for high drain devices, and they have held up well over time with repeated recharging. Being able to recharge them hundreds of times makes them an excellent value for the money, especially from a trusted brand. Overall, durable, dependable, and a great long term alternative to disposable batteries.

Amazon Basics High-Capacity Batteries: Power-Packed Performance on a Budget
As a professional reviewer, I've had the opportunity to put the Amazon Basics 16-Pack Rechargeable AA NiMH High-Capacity Batteries (2400 mAh) through their paces. My findings are based on rigorous testing and comparison with other brands in the market. Upon unboxing, my initial impression was that these batteries are strikingly similar to the Sanyo eneloop XX batteries, both in appearance and specifications. This led me to believe that they might be rebranded versions of the same. To confirm my suspicion, I embarked on a series of tests using my La Crosse BC1000 Battery Charger/Analyzer. Here's what I found: Pros: + High Capacity: The batteries delivered an average capacity of 2555mAh after a few recharge/discharge cycles, exceeding the rated 2400mAh. This is a testament to their high-quality performance. + Quality Control: The tight spread between 2510 and 2610mAh across the batteries indicates excellent quality control. + Value for Money: At the time of writing, an 8-pack of Amazon High-Capacity AA batteries costs less than a 4-pack of eneloop XX batteries, making them a great bargain. + Long-Term Performance: After 5 months in storage, the batteries retained 85% of their original capacity, outperforming the Sanyo XX batteries in my previous tests. Cons: - Size: These batteries are slightly fatter than typical AA batteries, which might cause fitting issues in devices with extremely tight battery compartments. - Lifespan: While they perform excellently in the short term, these batteries seem to lose their ability to hold charge after a few years. If you're a heavy user, be prepared to replace them after 2-3 years. - Country of Origin: Some users have reported a drop in quality in batteries made in China compared to those made in Japan. In conclusion, the Amazon Basics 16-Pack Rechargeable AA NiMH High-Capacity Batteries (2400 mAh) offer excellent performance and value for money. However, their slightly larger size and shorter lifespan compared to other brands might be a deal-breaker for some users. Remember, the best battery for you depends on your specific needs and the devices you intend to use them in. Always consider these factors when making your purchase decision.

Good Value Rechargeable Batteries for Everyday Use
The Amazon Basics 8-Pack Rechargeable AA NiMH batteries offer solid performance at a reasonable price, making them a practical option for everyday household devices. After using them in items like remote controls, toys, and wireless accessories, they have proven to be reliable and convenient for regular use. These batteries charge without issue in standard NiMH chargers and hold a charge well for low- to moderate-drain devices. They are especially useful for items that require frequent battery changes, helping reduce waste and long-term costs compared to disposable batteries. Performance has been consistent, and they provide dependable power for routine tasks without noticeable drops in output. However, they are not the best choice for high-drain devices such as cameras, gaming controllers, or flash units, where higher-capacity premium rechargeables tend to last longer between charges. Charge retention over extended storage is decent but not exceptional, so they may need recharging if left unused for long periods. Build quality is acceptable, though they don’t feel as robust or long-lasting as more expensive branded alternatives. Overall, these Amazon Basics rechargeable AA batteries are a good value for everyday household needs. While they may not replace premium batteries for demanding electronics, they perform well for general use and are a cost-effective, eco-friendly option.

Exceeds expectations
Bought these for a video game my son has, they work well and last decently long, not as long as top brand lithium non rechargeable batteries but at least we can recharge these . They are made from NIMH, imo its an outdated technology, should have lithium ion batteries but i guess the price would be higher. I recommend.

Bang for buck
I’ve been genuinely impressed with Amazon Basics AA and AAA batteries. They deliver consistently strong, reliable power across everything I’ve used them in — from TV remotes and wireless keyboards to game controllers, smart home sensors, and kids’ toys. Performance has been comparable to far more expensive branded batteries, with no noticeable drop-off in power or premature failures. What really stands out is their reliability over time. They hold charge well in low-drain devices, don’t leak, and feel dependable even when left installed for months. For everyday household use, they simply work exactly as you’d expect a good battery to work — no fuss, no surprises. The value proposition is exceptional. You get dependable performance at a price that makes sense, especially if you go through batteries regularly. They’re ideal for bulk buying without feeling like you’re compromising on quality. Overall, these are batteries you can buy with confidence. Practical, reliable, and excellent value — Amazon Basics AA and AAA batteries have become my default choice and I see no reason to switch back to more expensive alternatives.
