Dorman 742-142 Power Window Lift Motor Compatible with Select Models

Purchased to replace a window motor in a 1990 Chevrolet Silverado single cab. Original motor lasted 30 years. This kit has everything you need to install it in multiple vehicles and the harnesses are of very high quality. This is not an easy repair for this truck. The entire door trim panel and inner metal door panel have to be removed to replace this motor which is riveted on the inner metal panel. Make sure you have a dremel, angle grinder, or drill bits that can handle getting the very sturdy old rivets out. The hardware included is perfect for this vehicle except for the screw head height under the motor for one screw hole. I didn't modify it, I just tightened it way down and it works quietly and perfectly. Definitely lubricate the window rails with grease, spray lubricate/grease the door lock linkages and door striker assembly (which fixed my door locks not fully locking/unlocking), and consider replacing the window rollers while you are there. You don't want to go back there again!

Was pretty straightforward to remove and replace with this working motor. It includes a couple of adapters (i assume fit a variety of vehicles) and took no time to install. Everything lined up perfectly. You do have to get a little creative now with the adapter adding a little more length to the cable now, but nothing too crazy. Most importantly the window works again.

Works like OEM.Installation is simple. Good product for the money.

This product work great at first, then would speraticaly work till it stoped all together. I would no recommend this product to anyone. It install great, but is not worth having to go back in less then a year later to do it all over again.

this product does indeed fit the saturn sc2 1999 year model. i did have to shave off about 1/2 x 3/4 inches of an angle part of the plastic to make it fit the gearbox. otherwise, works ok. the wiring comes with a variety of adapters, which causes there to be an extra 5 or 6 inches of wire to deal with, but a few creatively placed tie-wraps fixes that. a local shop quoted my girlfriend about $140 to replace the window motor, this was about $35 and an afternoon of my labour (windows are hellishly tricky to realign once they drop down in the guides).

This part fits the driver side door on a 1998 Buick Park Avenue. Installed part and had to run the motor. to get the gears in sync. It fit and worked great. It got a little confusing at first trying to find the correct motor that fit. Now my window works.

Did not fit 1995 Chevy Silverado. Missed deadline for return as my son had to come home to install. At least the price was good. I will hopefully find someone to donate it to.

Went to change out motor says it works for a 2000 Saturn SL but mounting holes do not line up and I can’t return because I missed return date by 3 days. Does not fit so if you order do it right away or you may be out of luck
