NWI NSLP500B Siteline Transit/Level Package – 20X Magnification, 200ft Range, ±45° Transit, 1/4" Accuracy at 100ft

After reading the reviews on this I decided to buy anyway since I have excellent knowledge of how to work with this equipment. I was able to check the calibration as soon as I received it in the mail. No issues from shipping. Just finished all calibration checks and have determined that is within specs. I’ve been surveying property and building structures for 40 years now and have determined this meets and exceeds all my needs. I’m surprised for such an inexpensive piece of equipment that it’s as accurate as it is. I don’t know why others have had issues? This works just as good as the more expensive that I’ve used in the past. My only issue is that I’m out of practice trying to do the math for gps coordinates and distances. I have to refer back to my books to remember but with time it will all come back to me. This is an excellent buy for what you get and how it works. Everyone should realize this is a transit and not a builders level. Two entirely different things. Both have distinct uses and different functions. Make sure you get the right one for your needs. I also found that when I was setting fence lines, I was able to shoot distances up to 600’ within a quarter of an inch accuracy. I haven’t shot my quarter mile line yet, but know that I’ll have to shoot at two different points and still be within a quarter inch. Anyone that doesn’t have the knowledge to use this should study up before you use and write a review. That way you’ll know precisely how this works and won’t be disappointed if you have the knowledge.

First use was to check grade for installation of 18×33 above ground pool. Easy to set up, easy to focus and find measuring device. Will continue to use through-out pool set up and let you know more later. Equipment is not el-cheapo but well made and functional. Takes the guesswork out of my projects.2 years later and still setting up pool.Spent almost a year fixing mom's house up after she Died. I'm 72 yrs old and what you see in picture i've done myself so it takes awhile.I have set up this transit at least a dozen times in my pool base project so far. Every time i have there has been no problem at all. Leg clamps work fine. each time i set it up, i check my previous work and it comes out dead-nuts every time. i love this thing. I know, "made in China" but seriously, Who sent all this stuff to be made in China to start with? "American Corporations." Sorry, don't mean to offend.

1st I will say it works but the lens quality is beyond junk and I ended up having to use a $39 spotting scope to find marker to be able to dial this thing in 235 feet to run lines. for the price I guess it's okay and if not use to building things it would be great. I used it yesterday once and am thinking about returning it, not because it doesn't function but because if I have to pull out a non cross haired 20x spotting scope to check where I am looking I am thinking ....To summarize : It works, has tripod, and grade tool. I upgraded its rating from 3 to 4 as I looked over setups that cost more. Unless you are a pro and wanting it for huge projects this is good. If you are a pro you are using much higher end items. I looked at a famous box store brand and can not say all around it was any better.

I only need this transit to sight-in a previously surveyed location, and it fits this purpose nicely. The tripod is aluminum and sturdy; clamps tight. The transit itself is well-constructed, operates smoothly; and setup is simple and easy. I have not yet check the vertical and horizontal angular accuracy. Carrying case is plastic, a bit flimsy, but should stand up to moderate use. Overall, a good combination for an affordable price. I research several other design, combining separate tripod + transit, but this is the best fit product for my purpose.

I got this to figure elevations for a new garage and it worked great! Follow their directions on how to level the unit and it’s easy to do. I tried to do it my own way first and I struggled, but had it perfect within just a couple minutes once I looked at the directions again. I was more than happy with the quality feel of the product. The measuring stick was very easy to read very accurately.

I didn't think it would be a very good interment, for my needs.but I was very surprised by the quality and performance. the rod is easy to readand it is very accurate. I would recommend this transit two anyone. The try pod isvery well made.the price is very fare, compared to other transits

Easy to setup, level and use. Getting things level or running in the right way will never be hard again.

I really like this product. When I was younger, I was responsible for grades and alignment on many big highway projects after taking surveying classes in college. This is not a high end transit/level, but you cannot go wrong with this product especially considering the price.
