From the Publisher Review: Great - The book was great, the cover , quality is nice. I got bookmark along with it. I enjoyed reading the book. Review: Amazing read ❤ - "The Prophet" is basically a philosophical prose poetry. It is actually a prose, contentwise but when you actually read it,you find yourself reciting those lines in the book like you recite a poem. I also tend to call it a spiritual friction as this book holds an enriching experience in itself . The language used is an ancient old English literature,so you kinda find it difficult to understand the words. I had to browse many of the words to grasp them well. . The plot of the book goes like a man called The Prophet has to leave the country in which he has been presently residing to go back to his native place. At the time of his departure, people of this country asks him questions about many facets of life. The answers to these questions are very beautifully given and I personally felt teaches the mysteries of way of life. The book comprises of twenty six(26) poetic essays which talks man's relation with fellow men and mastery of life. It includes the concepts of freedom, love, marriage, children, laws, joy and sorrow, death and many more. . Reading this book feels like meditating. You donot just read what's written in, you actually observe what's in the book. I felt like this is a life story of every human on earth. Though a short read, I took it very long to complete it,still I donot feel like I have observed everything that the book had to give. If you want to look over life with a spiritual eye,you gotta definitely give this a read. ~Maleka Jabeen.

Nice Read
This novel, "The Prophet" by Kahlil Gibran, contains 28 poetic essays with 12 illustrations drawn by the author himself. This book took more than 11 years to be formulated and perfected and is known as Gibran's best work to date. The author simply touched on the depths of many topics that we can relate to very easily right from birth to death. His knowledge and understanding of life and its surroundings are great, which he penned down captivatingly and vivified with feelings.

Truly, A book to read before you Die
Firstly, I was drawn towards this book from another person who quoted this book in his Autobiography. (Wings of Fire, APJ Abdul Kalam) This book has truly drawn my attention towards various aspects of life and I really enjoyed reading the poetry. So much wisdom and teaching for such a low price !! This book definitely has something to offer to everyone from all walks of life. Whether you are a Housewife or a Businessman or a student, this book has something for you. I personally had this little talk in my mind over every philosophy mentioned in the book. All of it truly convinces my mind, except one. For all the reasons I tried to think and debate with myself, I do not agree with the Author's opinion on Crime and Punishment. The author says that the oppressed is not innocent from the crimes of guilty. Victim is not innocent of the crimes of oppressor. Here is my take on this, you leave your keys in the car is not an invitation for a thief to steal it. Except for this one chapter, which I do not endorse. Rest of the philosophy is completely genuine and practical and I definitely recommend you to read this book atleast thrice to get the real feel of it. I come back to this book and read specific chapters whenever I am having some issues with that aspect of my life. I encourage you to do the same. Hope my review and opinion helps. Cheers !!

Light philosophical read
Almustafa is waiting for twelve years in the city of Orphalese for his ship to return and take him back home. In all these years following his relationship with the fellow city dwellers, he has come to be known as 'The Prophet- the chosen and beloved one'. And finally his ship has arrived and its his time to return home leaving behind the city. People from all walks of life have come to see and bid goodbye to their 'Prophet' for the last time. They are seeking the words of wisdom on various topics and he is delivering his philosophy related to Work, Joy and Sorrow, Marriage, Freedom and many more to them. He promises to come back to restore everything again when his voice and love will start fading in the minds of the people. Finally getting onto his ship he sails back to the real home. Kahlil Gibran (Lebanese-American Author) has very beautifully written the whole conversation in the form of poetic essays. The book full of religious inspirations it doesn't belong or follow the teachings of a single sect but defines a wider picture leading the reader to indulge and draw from the ocean of universal philosophy of life. A short book of 128 pages with original illustrations by the author, The Prophet is a light read to grab up on any day.
