I sincerely LOVE THIS TRANSLATION. So many beautiful words written in this translation. If you have lots of translations I highly recommend you add this to your library.

Jesus and His disciples spoke mostly Aramaic as well as Hebrew, so this Bible is the closest translation to what was really said. This translation eliminates errors that crept in through intermediary translations of the testaments into Latin and Greek. It corrects crucial mistranslations due to the confusion of letters and words by translators who approached the complexities of Aramaic grammar without the abilities of a native speaker. Such as King James translates Matthew 6:13 as, "and lead us not into temptation" but the Aramaic says, "and do not let us enter into temptation." Again in Matt 19:24 King James reads, "I say to you it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God." The Aramaic says, "it is easier for a rope to go through the eye of a needle.." This is the reason I wanted this Bible, to actually read what Jesus said as it is the language that He spoke, making this translation the most authoritative English rendering of the Word of God.

True to condition described. I'm so happy to have Alonza translation again previously I just had the New Testament so I really happy with this purchase.

Right from the Aramaic, it doesn't have all the books but it does give an easy translation. I highly recommend this bible for anyone just learning because it goes really well with Llamsa's idiom book. The quality is good and sturdy and the words are clear. It's heavy and the font is pretty clear. (Not tiny)

An excellent reference for the early eastern church bible. George Lamsa gives a good overview of the challenges for reading and translating Syriac and Aramaic texts and provides useful examples following the introduction. It is a controversial effort by Lamsa as a number of scholars dismiss a number of the claims made. Regardless of the controversy, it is a worthwhile Bible version that should create useful discussions in bible studies.

This version is the most accurate in translation bar none. Still do not agree with 100 percent of the translation of the text from the codexes that we have copies of. Still it beats the rest. Former Bible scholar here If you want to study the Bible for any reason, this version is the one to get.

The Bible arrived in new and very good condition. Packaging was neat and the pages are clean and well preserved. Very happy with the quality and overall condition. Thank you.

Purchased this bible because I was looking for one that didn't have verses missing in it - many bibles have been changed in this way. In comparison so far to the other bible I have, this bible is not missing those verses, is easy to understand, and I am more confident in this translation overall. I also like the quality of the paper - similar to printer-paper weight. And the size of the text is perfect - similar to print in a magazine or newspaper.
