Works great !
I've had it for 7 months, keeps coffee hot as. The size is great for a car cup holder and its durable I've dropped it many times and no dents yet. The seal works great there has not been any spills when putting it on the side bag of a backpack.

Very good choice
As a regular tea drinker who loves a lot of tea, I'm glad I bought this tumbler. Actually, I've purchased two (2) so far. It keeps my tea hot for a very long time and doesn't spill like other expensive tumblers.

Meets My Needs at Reasonable Cost
The Thermos 18-ounce Travel Tumbler meets my needs -- it does keep liquids hot and cold long enough for me, is the right size to fit my car's cup holder, is 60 percent of the cost of a replacement of the brand that I was using, is noticeably better at being leakproof, and is not difficult to clean. The cupholder in my car that fits the 18-ounce insulated water bottle that I used is located under the dashboard's center area and is limited in space above the cupholder. However, the brand that I used did not have any 18-ounce size currently available online, only 16-ounce and 20-ounce bottles, but the 20-ounce bottle is too tall to fit in the space above my car's cupholder. So I checked the 18-ounce bottles of other brands and found the Thermos Travel Tumbler, which also happened to be 60 percent of the cost of the 20-ounce bottle of that other brand. I ordered a white one, which was the cheapest at that time, and, so far, it works fine. The Thermos Travel Tumbler is a littler heavier than my water bottle of the other brand. The only problem I have had with the Thermos is trying to open the slide opener after refilling the travel tumbler -- the slide opener requires a lot of force to slide open. I have started to stop twisting on the cap and slide open the lid to "pop" the vacuum or whatever is causing the seal and then continue to twist the cap on tight. I bought a white tumbler and used it for coffee. I noticed coffee stains near the opening in the lid that could be seen when the slide opener was open, so I wondered what the area under the slide looked like and sent a message to Thermos asking how to take that slide off in order to clean the lid area under the slide. UPDATE: I asked on April 1, 2020, the question, "How can the slide lock bar be removed to clean the area of the the lid that is covered by the slide lock bar?" On April 27, 2020, the Thermos Consumer Services sent to me email saying, "DIP-IT (coffee pot cleaner) or Denture Tablets usually work best for getting out stubborn stains and odors." I have been using the white Thermos tumbler for drinking cold water and went back to my old black HydroFlask for drinking coffee.

No leaks
Nice thermos. Keeps drinks hot or cold and it is leak-proof. I took it with me to Europe and could safely put it in my totebag with cold water and not worry about leaking. I would say that it is a bit of a chore to clean, having to remove the gaskets, but it is worth it.

comfort , fits in cup holder, hot all day
I love this thermos-----had one for years and lost it so glad I was able to replace it-------keeps the beverage hot all day---it fits easily into the drink holder in the car very comfortable in your hand, perfect size---I had purchased a less expensive replacement but was difficult to align the handle with the drink spout and it didn't fit nicely in to drink holder in car, too bulky just uncomfortable---I had purchased the original Thermos at Costco for 2 for $25 (a few years ago) so this was a little pricey but worth it.

Best overall design
This is my favorite insulated bottle; I have two. They are extremely durable and I use them for travel (both road trips and flying), sports, and office. The capacity is perfect: big enough to hold enough for the day but small enough to be compact and fit in my shoulder bags and backpack. Leak proof and the slide-lock feature is genius.

WARNING - MAJOR DESIGN FLAW
First I want to state that I am a huge fan of Thermos and their products. I use this travel mug primarily for coffee and it keeps the coffee hot as advertised. The problem is with the disk that is used to "seal" the mug and keep it from spilling when the lid is closed. Twice in the past I have had a "spill" event which I would compare to when you are drinking a cold beverage with ice and the ice momentarily creates a dam that prevents the beverage from passing by until the cup is raised high enough and the ice and beverage become free and splashes out. The difference between an ice dam and this mug is that hot coffee burns. Each time when I opened the mug, I found the sealing disk floating down in the coffee. I had previously just attributed this to operator error. Today it happened again and I now have figured out why. The disk rotates and "clicks" into place, however the "click" is just barely noticeable and does not provide much resistance. The problem occurs when you remove (unscrew) the top with the lid open. The disk must catch on the side of the mug just enough that it unscrews the disk enough that it is no longer locked in place. The lid can be removed without the disk falling but then when the lid is screwed back on it is now loose. Sometimes I will unscrew the lid until the threads catch in order not to cross thread which can only make the problem worse. The next problem is that the mug appears to function correctly which gets your guard down. The disk will float on top of the coffee until enough is gone that the disk floats down to where the mug interior diameter is smaller. This is when the disk will catch on the sides, which prevents the coffee from flowing, resulting in tipping the mug higher until the full weight of the coffee is enough to overcome the disk and hot coffee spills out on your mouth, face, shirt and in my case my laptop keyboard. I was able to easy reproduce the problem: 1. Open the lid for drinking 2. Unscrew the top 3. With the lid still open, screw the lid back on (even worse, unscrew to catch the first thread) 4. With the lid fully seated, tap the mug on a counter or other surface 5. Open the lid back up to find the disk still in the mug This problem appears to occur less frequently if you re-tighten the disk after you remove the top or if you correctly assemble the disk after cleaning on first use. So for me, it mostly occurs when I am having a second cup. I have owned 2 different mugs made by Thermos and each of those had a plastic o-ring locking piece that was used to lock the spill disk in place (2 piece design). At first I thought that this new design was better since it was much "easier" to remove the disk. However, I don't think that this design was fully thought through since it is now too "easy" for the disk to become unlocked. I bought this product based on my positive experiences with the 2 previous mugs with the old design, however I can not recommend this product until there is a correction for this issue. Just remember that you have been warned...

You have to let the tea or coffee get to the desired temperature and then close lid. It's scalding hot when you put close the lid. It will stay that way. I learned that the hard way and it was almost an hour later
